I hired this company to clean my new house for a "move in". The owner who spoke to me on the phone was very nice. I voiced my concern about the previous owners leaving a smoke and dog odor. She assured me that they were extremely prepared for that and it would not be a problem. The two ladies who arrived to clean the house were on time and polite. I again reminded them of the issue from the previous owners dog and smoke. Again, assured they could handle it. Few minutes into the clean we found that the water was not yet turned on. I provided the cleaners with a couple of gallons of water from the gas station. They said it was plenty and they would let me know if needed more. I then left the house after paying $300 cash and let them work... that was a mistake. When I returned to the house after they left I found the cleaning that took place was all superficial. The house smelled better but quickly wore off. Anything above or below eye level wasn't touched or cleaned at all. Dust all over very visible parts of every room. Nothing in the kitchen appeared to have any type of cleaning. Dirt, dust and cobwebs we're still present anywhere that wasn't at eye level. When we applied water to the cabinets they dripped dirt onto the floor showing that it was never even touched. Any area that would have taken any effort (out of reach from the floor, reaching around furniture, etc) was not touched. If I had to assume what happened when I left I would say that they swept, mopped, wiped down a few items and use a heavy amount of cleaners when doing so to leave a good smelling odor for a few hours to appear clean.Apr 15, 2017VerifiedRobert H.'s reply
Patrick When we arrived there was no power and no running water. I told you we could not clean with our either. You asked us to stay and do the best we could that you would appreciate what ever we could do because you were moving in the next day. You went to the store and bought us 2 gallons of water and against my better judgment I honored your request and stayed and did the best that we could with no resources. Even without obstacles 30+ years of indoor cigarette smoke takes weeks to remove from a home. Weeks of wiping layer after layer off all the surfaces and weeks of fresh air circulation. This is partly my fault I should have been more clear on the lasting affects cigarette smoke. How badly it can stain and long it takes to remove. When I expressed my confidence in our cleaning abilities I didn’t know how bad we would look when faced with that challenge and then to have no resources. We are very good at what we do but cigarette smoke is so bad it can even take a team like ours and make us look bad. I’m truly sorry this happened to you. I wish we could have done more. I wish you fully understand what we were up against. All I can do is try to explain what I think happened. When the power kicked on it recirculated the stale cigarette smoke in the air ducts which over powered the fresh clean smell and the lack of natural light and no artificial light helped create the perfect atmosphere to miss things. Call me I’ll clean for free once you’re all settled in. We can approach this cigarette smoke more aggressively. Fortunately for you the smoke will eventually it will go away unfortunately for me this review will not.
I contracted with Host Professional Cleaning Service to clean my daughter's and son-in-law's apartment who were moving from Pittsburgh with their 1 week old baby. We are not trying to get rich or we would have chose are different line of work. We just want to provide for our families while helping people and having the luxury of working for ourselves.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Introduction and build trust. We treat everyone like family. If you only knew how many friends we made doing this.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I learn something new everyday. Surprisingly from customers and veterans of this field. My partner hasn't missed a seminar and or tutorial then he relays It to the rest of us.
