Not only do we make sure the cake looks good but taste great as well. Using only the finest ingredients we make sure our 'from scratch' cakes are baked to perfection. Cake as Canvas is now proud to introduce cake decorating classes and parties. Want to learn the basics of cake decorating; grab a few friends and host a party in the comfort of your home! Baking and cake decorating is my passion. I love to see the faces of my customers when they see their vision come to life in cake. That to me is the most rewarding part of my job.

Huma has made quite a few cakes for my family and I have referred her to friends as well. She is incredibly talented and extremely accommodating. Huma's prices are amazing too. You may feel that you can't afford a custom cake but you will be pleasantly surprised! I purchased my first cake from Huma in 2012 and she has been my go-to baker ever since! She pays great attention to detail in her designs and best of all her cakes taste as good as they look!

I ordered a cake, cupcakes, and truffles from Cake as Canvas for Valentine's Day and for a Baby Shower! Huma was excellent, on time as well as professional, and everything was fresh and delicious. I would use Cake as Canvas again in the future and would recommend her and the company to friends. Thank you for the great experiences ! :)

I love working with Huma she was very responsive and professional. The cake nor cupcakes werethe best I was pretty disappointed in all honesty. It was hard and the cake and cupcakes werent sweet my guests compared it to jiffy cake mix. I ask Huma if it should be refrigerated due to the fact that the party was the next day and she said yes due to the fact that it was buttercream. I was so upset and embarrassed. I only handed out the cupcakes. No one even wanted to touch the cake after that. I personally tried the cake and it was the same thing. Very upsetting experience.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start off with all the ideas and designs my customer has listening carefully to what they envision their cake to look like. I then take that and come up with a sketch for them to make their cake look as unique as they are.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors degree in Economics and went on to get my associates in pastry arts from the The Restaurant School in Philadelphia. I have worked in the pastry kitchen at Marriott Hotel in Philadelphia. I also have worked at local bakeries with other Cake Artists which allowed me to hone my skills.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of customers, which is why I love doing what I do. Every cake means a different person with amazingly different ideas and I thrive on the challenge of creating those designs.
