I love working with Huma she was very responsive and professional. The cake nor cupcakes werethe best I was pretty disappointed in all honesty. It was hard and the cake and cupcakes werent sweet my guests compared it to jiffy cake mix. I ask Huma if it should be refrigerated due to the fact that the party was the next day and she said yes due to the fact that it was buttercream. I was so upset and embarrassed. I only handed out the cupcakes. No one even wanted to touch the cake after that. I personally tried the cake and it was the same thing. Very upsetting experience.Jun 11, 2017Verified
I ordered a cake, cupcakes, and truffles from Cake as Canvas for Valentine's Day and for a Baby Shower! Huma was excellent, on time as well as professional, and everything was fresh and delicious. Huma has made quite a few cakes for my family and I have referred her to friends as well. She is incredibly talented and extremely accommodating. Huma's prices are amazing too. You may feel that you can't afford a custom cake but you will be pleasantly surprised! I purchased my first cake from Huma in 2012 and she has been my go-to baker ever since! She pays great attention to detail in her designs and best of all her cakes taste as good as they look!Dec 9, 2014

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I start off with all the ideas and designs my customer has listening carefully to what they envision their cake to look like. I then take that and come up with a sketch for them to make their cake look as unique as they are.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a bachelors degree in Economics and went on to get my associates in pastry arts from the The Restaurant School in Philadelphia. I have worked in the pastry kitchen at Marriott Hotel in Philadelphia. I also have worked at local bakeries with other Cake Artists which allowed me to hone my skills.
- What types of customers have you worked with?I have worked with all types of customers, which is why I love doing what I do. Every cake means a different person with amazingly different ideas and I thrive on the challenge of creating those designs.
