Deedee was great! Unfortunately we were unable to conquer the dog chasing cat problem in our first 2 sessions but that may have had more to do with our cat being unresponsive to interacting with our dog. For the last 2 sessions, we worked on manners outside and we have had significant improvements in leash manners and people manners! Deedee gave us the tools necessary to continue working with our dog to continue to improve. Also, scooby doos house of play has a wide variety of options from train and board to personal lessons that we will utilize in the future to continue to conquer our puppy problems :) our dog was an 6 year old rescue so she can obviously help train out bad behaviors in older dogs too! Would go back if we ever decide to get another dog with behavioral issues. Thanks Deedee!

They are the only dog walking company in years that has been able to get my dog to consistently walk with them. They have expertly dealt with his occasional challenging behaviors. They are very reliable and always leave me a note letting me know how he has done. I would recommend them to anyone.

We have only good comments for Bonnie. Our 3 year old dog has never been left with anyone but family. After meeting Bonnie we felt great leaving our dog in her hands. She sent us pics and updates daily and loved her and walked her and treated her as her own!!! You couldn't do better🐾❤️👍

Rhonda has been our dog care person for several years now. She walks our two labs everyday while we are at work and even takes care of the fish in our pond. Her ability is remarkable and she is a good, kind, loving person.

Fetch came into my home to take my 2 dogs for walk or a busy weekend. The woman that took our dogs for a walk left me a note so I knew what they had done. I will be looking to hire Fetch again in the future.

Judy was wonderful, timely and efficient. This was the first non-family pet sitter we have hired since in Pittsburgh. My dog was happy when we returned and all was well! I am going to refer her to others! Thanks thumbtack!

When our dog reached 7 years of age, we used Tracy to stop by, to walk and let our dog out for bathroom breaks, while we were working. Tracy is very caring, trustworthy and reliable. Tracy would stop by when we were home, and our dog would be excited to see her! I wouldn't hesitate to utilize Tracy's services again.

I have known Renee since she was 5 years old and she always had a passion for animals. I was not surprised to see her go in the Pet Sitting business. She has been watching our 3 dogs and we are very happy about that; not only did she tend to all their needs, she also picked up after the mess our son did in the kitchen, took out the garbage and picked up the mail. We can go away without having to worry about anything at home. I highly recommend her to anybody who needs a good sitter.

Extremely dependent and very nice. She worked with our dog who has anxiety issues and our dog now loves her visits. We are so thankful she is able to walk our pooch during the day.

Darlene is a delight to work with. I was at first nervous about leaving my 2 pups. They are bigger dogs and love attention. But after meeting with her and her correspondence while we were away, all worries melted away. The dogs seem to love her her and she's very good with them. Highly recommended.

I am happy to have found the Impeccable Dog service to use when we travel. Their service is truly" impeccable" in many ways. We can leave for a long period of time knowing and trusting that Koby, our dog, and Bella, our cat are well cared for. Everything is in order when we return home just as we had left. Lauren is very reliable, responsible, honest and trustworthy. If an issue or problem should occur, her communication with me is prompt and professional. I would highly recommend them to anyone who loves their pets. ! F.B

Just one week, but so far so very good! Mary is a real "professional." She came w/ materials and questions and info about herself, her experience and approach. She has loads of experience; is super warm is very flexible in terms of your hours and what you would like her to do. She is very reasonable (price wise). She not only gives my dog undivided attention, but very actively engages w/ her on both physical and emotional levels. She leaves details notes on how the day went. I could not be more please w/ my experience thus far. I come home to a happy, exercised and loved dog!

Chelsey is wonderful with my two dogs, even my rambunctious 10 month old puppy. She understands that my pups are like my kids and treats them as I would. Also, she isn't in a race to leave, like some pet sitters. I feel very confident that my boys are being well taken care of.

I have two dogs one from an abusive situation that Shelby is working with, and made amazing progress within 30 minutes, and I have another dog that just has a few bad habits that she will be working with. Shelby figured out my dogs personality within 5 minutes of walking in the door. She knows what she is doing and would recommend her highly to anyone in need

We finally have peace of mind that our dogs are being cared for in the way we want them to be. We have used Jacob for a year and he is reliable, caring, and our 2 dogs are so happy to see him. In addition to walking, playing with and feeding our dogs, Jacob has, from time to time, had to administer medications, and special dietary needs. We have had other pet sitters, and when we return, we've had to take our 1 dog to the vet for dehydration and other medical conditions. I highly recommend Jacob for pet sitting positions - your pet will love him!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a dog walker do?

We all know our dogs love going on long, adventure-filled walks, but jobs and family and commuting can make it difficult to give them the leash time they deserve. You can hire a professional dog walker to make sure your furry friend gets adequate exercise and outdoor time each day. A professional dog walker may be an individual contractor or work for a dedicated dog-walking company. In either case, you want to make sure the pro has the appropriate insurance in case of an emergency. Some people opt to give the dog walker a key to their house; others to have them pick up the dog from the yard. Dog walking can happen as often as multiple times per day, or just a few times a month as needed. Here are some questions to ask when you are interviewing a new dog walker:

    • Will you or someone else be walking my dog?
    • Do you have a backup plan if you can’t make it for a scheduled walk?
    • Will you walk my dog by itself, or do you walk several dogs at once?
    • What are your different walk routes?
    • When will you pick up and drop off?
    • How will we communicate?
    • Do I have to commit to a schedule or are you flexible?
    • What’s your cancellation policy?
    • What’s your response plan if my dog gets injured or becomes sick?
    • How and how often do I pay you?
    • Do you offer package pricing if I buy multiple dog walks up front?

How much do dog walkers charge?

The cost of dog walking depends on several factors including length and frequency of dog walks, the number of dogs on the walk, distance to your house, and any additional services you request. The national average cost range for a dog walk is $10-$20, but that price will vary based on where you live in the country and the regional cost of living and doing business.

The longer the dog walk, the higher your costs will be. Dog walkers offer a range of walk lengths, from 15-minute potty breaks to long hikes of 120 minutes or more. For example, a dog walker may charge $15 for a 15-minute walk and $35 for a 35-minute walk. Requesting that your dog be the only animal on the walk will typically mean a higher cost than if you permit your dog to be walked in a pack of dogs. You may be able to get a discounted rate if you have more than one dog to be walked. For example, a professional dog walker may charge $28 for one dog or $33 for two dogs on a 60-minute walk. If you need additional help — like feeding the dogs or giving them medication — dog walkers may be able to provide this service at an additional fee. Dog walkers may charge higher rates for walking your dogs on holidays.
