Laura from Hey Dollface did my hair and makeup on location for my wedding, as well as the bridesmaids hair. After our first conversation, I knew that I liked her and we would click, and she was a total pleasure to work with - easy to communicate with and professional. Since I was coming from out of town, she met with me the week of the wedding for a trial run. The day of the wedding Laura and her assistant arrived early to our wedding site and were ready to go to get everyone done on time (and early!). She has excellent taste and she made me feel classy and beautiful. I would hire Hey Dollface again no question.

Laura did hair and makeup for my wedding in July of 2015, and she was amazing! She met with me prior to the event and listened and looked at photos I had found for ideas. The day of she took care of myself, my sister, mother, and our flower girl who was loving every minute of being done up. I cannot express how much I loved working with Laura and what a great time I had with her!

I was extremely pleased with my experience! "Hey Dollface" helped my entire wedding party (9 ladies!), myself, and my mom beautify ourselves for my big day. Laura, my hair stylist, was super accommodating and eased my wedding day jitters! I truly would recommend her services to anyone looking for a wedding hairstylist!

I unfortunately cannot recommend services from Hey Dollface, mostly because I was denied the opportunity to experience their work. I scheduled to have my make-up done with Laura, the owner, for my wedding over 6 months in advance, yet my trial was cancelled not once, but twice. The first cancellation was due to the owner’s illness, which was understandable. However, the second time happened only after I had already arrived at her home, and called her to find out where to come in. I was at that time informed that she had forgotten our appointment and was at her other job and could not accommodate me for that evening, or until the following week as she would be out of town all weekend. At this point, my wedding was only a week and a half away. I texted Laura about rescheduling, and finally heard back from her on Sunday, October 1st, which was less than a week from my wedding which was October 7th. It was at this time that Laura revealed that she had no evening availability until Wednesday (3 days before my wedding) and I myself worked that Monday and Tuesday, so could not come in before 4:45pm. The owner stated “I’m very sorry for spacing out on you…I’ll happily return your deposit if you decide not to use me.” At this point, I was in a difficult position as there were no other options by this point for make-up artistry this close to the wedding. Without notice, I received a notification of refund on my deposit via my Paypal account. I messaged the owner back to say that I unfortunately did not have many other options and would be willing to work with her at this point despite the previous difficulties. The owner responded “I feel so crummy that I bagged on you but I’m just not up for it right now.” However, the owner did state that she would reach out to a few other make-up artists in her network and ask them if they had availability. She informed me that she would find out by the end of the evening on Oct. 1st if one of them, Alicia Kitchen, did in fact have availability. Unfortunately, I received no contact from either the owner of Hey Dollface or any other makeup artist on Sunday. Finally, on Wednesday, Oct 4th, I did hear from Alicia stating they were “given (my) number in regards to wedding makeup…are you still looking for a make-up artist?” By this time, I had already gone to Ulta and was taught how to do my own makeup by one of their professionals in the salon and purchased several products in order to complete my make up on my own for my wedding day. I declined Alicia’s offer as I had already spent the money and time to prepare to do this on my own, and she responded “I’m sorry it took me a few days to respond, I have a terrible cold and literally passed out every day after work.” In conclusion, I would not recommend Hey Dollface or anyone that works with or coordinates with them in regards to make-up artistry. Her inconsistency, unreliability and unprofessionalism put me in a difficult position and caused me excess and undue stress immediately before my wedding. I had made it clear to Laura that, as someone who does not do their makeup themselves very often, that this was an area that I was extremely uncomfortable with and I was greatly looking forward to having professional help with this on my big day. Unfortunately, Laura made many promises over and over that she could not keep, and her personal expectations of what constitutes timeliness and communication are unacceptable. Please consider using another make up artist for your wedding needs.
