My experience was not the same as most, apparently. I called on a Thursday and was told that there was a possibility that a tech could make it out the same day - no tech showed up, not call back. I called the next day, Friday, and the same person had to take down all of my information again (leading me to believe they didn't write it down the first time), and was told they were scheduling for Wednesday of the following week. I scheduled, and received a confirmation with a picture of the tech on the day before my repair was scheduled. The tech never showed up, I received and email (an EMAIL, mind you, for a cancellation - not a phone call) at 4:00 PM stating that my appointment had been cancelled. I called back the next day and was greeted with a recording stating that they no longer had a technician and could not perform any service. To make a long story short: between the vacation time burned and the cost to have an actual service company come out to perform the repair, we're not too far off from the original cost of the refrigerator in the first place (which wasn't cheap). If I was told that there was a service tech required to change a light bulb in one of my appliances I would replace the appliance before calling these people to do any work. I mean who cancels an appointment via email 15 minutes before they close? A simple phone call with an explanation would've gone a long way. Completely and utterly unprofessional.Feb 28, 2019Review from GoogleMr. Appliance of Pittsburgh's reply
Hi Christopher, We are sorry if that is what happened. As for asking for the information again, our program saves everything we put in it, but we also have to search our database so that we match it to the correct customer. Our only Technician walked off the job Tuesday afternoon 2/26/2019 leaving us with no way to service you. Our office should have called when the technician couldn’t get out on Thursday. We did call and e-mail all of the customers who were on the schedule beyond the date our technician Quit that day letting them about our need to cancel their appointments and why. Again, we apologize for this and if you'd like to discuss further, feel free to call us at (412) 324-3057.
I took Mr. Appliance down from 5 stars to 1 star. On the first visit, tech claimed to have fixed the icemaker on 1 yr. old fridge by replacing worn out parts. Worn out? I was happy thinking it was repaired. Second visit , another tech came out who said it might be I need a new icemaker, or a new control panel (told it was expensive to replace). But "WAIT!! Look at your ice cubes - they're uneven! And the water comes out of the door too fast and "swirls" in the glass." Right!! And I'm the tooth fairy!! I told him that's why I called as the fridge keeps shutting off and the ice is melting - so, of course the ice would be uneven you dimwit!! These people are a joke. Oh, and the fridge (now 18 mos. old) died completely 2 days after Mr. Mensa couldn't find anything except uneven ice cubes and fast water coming out of the door. They must train their employees at the school of stupid.Mar 14, 2018Review from Google
I own a hair salon and had Mr Appliance do a dryer vent cleaning. They came out fast and did a great job. They cleaned up after and the price was reasonable. I would recommend them to other hair salonsDec 19, 2019Mr. Appliance of Pittsburgh's reply

The original owners of the company have recently sold it. We own Mr. Appliance of Canonsburg and as of September 1st, 2019 we purchased the Mr. Appliance of Pittsburgh. We have 4 technicians and are supporting all of the existing Mr. Appliance of Pittsburgh customers. We look forward to providing all of our clients in Pittsburgh with our speedy, expert service. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? We have an $99 diagnostic fee we charge for our technicians to come out to the customers home and research the repairs needed. Our technician will provide the customer with the price of the repairs including parts before we start the job. If the customer chooses to proceed with the repairs, the diagnostic fee is waived. We charge by the job not the hour, so no surprises with Mr. Appliance and all parts and labor are warranted for a full year.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? Our customers can schedule their repairs on-line or they can call our office. We will obtain some information about the appliance and the issues and than schedule the customer. We strive for same day or next day appointments. All of our parts and labor are warranted for a full year.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? All of our professional technicians have years of experience. Each of them attend numerous classes about appliance repair and the technology that runs the appliance. We have access to hundreds of on-line technical specification sheets for all types of appliances and from all types of manufacturers. Our technicians attend several live training courses hosted by the manufacturer each year.
