Steve Friedberg was the perfect choice for our after-prom. He was a pleasure to work with. We had a performance area set up for him and, despite different activities going on in multiple locations all over the high school, he consistently drew a crowd around his table. The kids were engaged, they were amazed, they were amused, they had a great time. Steve arrived early and warmed up by entertaining the adults who were doing the decorating. He handled one-on-one and one-on-twenty interactions with equal charm. He was a real asset to our event.Jun 1, 2017Verified

Uh, Kathy, thanks! But I think you meant to say "Steve!"
Steve was the consummate entertainer. His elegant and personable style really lent a special " magic" to my husband's 50th birthday party. He managed to fascinate guests of all ages. I would not hesitate to recommend Steve.Oct 22, 2017Verified
Steve was right on time. We talked about where he should set up and he was ready to perform ahead of schedule. The crowd loved his card tricks and you could see people wondering how he did that! I would recommend Steve for your next outing.Jun 25, 2017Verified

- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I've been studying magic from some of the world's best close-up masters for more than 20 years. Some of the names you may have heard of: Houdini and Blackstone. But I've also learned from other great magicians who aren't household names: Vernon and Marlo. In addition, I regularly associate with many of the best of the current generation. We exchange ideas, and it's made me a better performer.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?In the late 90s, I'd go to trade shows and see some incredible magicians working booths, and attracting crowds with nothing more than a deck of cards. I was amazed and wanted to do some of this magic myself. I ended up with 17 different "trick" decks, but couldn't do anything with a "regular" deck. My epiphany came in a magic shop in New York; a magician asked me if I had a regular deck. I did, and handed it to him. I asked me to select a card from the middle of the deck. A moment later, that very same card was on the top of the deck. I was amazed...and instantly vowed to become far better at card magic. I think I've succeeded.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?I was asked by a corporate client to do magic for them at a trade show booth. They were trying to drive additional attendance, and badge scans for sales leads. The previous year, they told me, they'd gotten 125 scans. They wanted more this year...perhaps as many as 150. By the end of the three-day conference, with me working the booth, they'd obtained 390. They more than tripled their results from the previous year. The CEO said to me, "you *will* be back."
