Guitar Lessons
Sonny has been teaching my Son aged 10 for about 8 months and comes home every weekend for lessons. My son is really comfortable around him and he is picking up guitar really well with Sonny. Sonny's has a way of motivating my Son to do better. He is also picking up new music to listen to and is genuinely interested in explore different sub genres of music due to Sonny's influence. Sonnys is always punctual, unfailingingly polite and pleasant to deal with. He is a great guitar teacher.

Working with Son has been absolutely wonderful. Son teaches both of my children (one guitar, one bass) and they absolutely love learning from him. We’ve been with him for almost 2 years now and Son is incredibly patient, yet keeps the kids focused on their lessons and the new concepts he introduces. My older son who was playing with another instructor before we moved and found Son has commented many times about how things come together now because of the tips, tricks, and guidance that Son gives him. My younger son who started playing bass with Son as his first instructor looks forward to his lessons each week and it is amazing how good and confident he has become with his bass! Son is a true professional and has been flexible with us as a family when we have conflicting and changing demands (school/athletics). It’s been an absolute pleasure for us and we feel lucky to have found Son when we moved to this area 2 years ago..

Mr. Lewis has been my daughter's guitar teacher for over a year and I can't believe the progress she has made both playing songs she enjoys and learning about the theory and structure of music. Son is very patient and understands that kids are just loaded down with distractions and other obligations and he always asks her about her soccer and her schoolwork so she understands how important they are too. He is very polite and always on time and both my daughter and I are very happy with him.

FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Lessons in your home can be as reasonable as $30 for 30 minutes but generally most adults seem to pick the 45 minute lessons for $40. This includes all the books provided by me. If you live more than 10 miles from Parsippany, there may be a small distance surcharge of $5 added to the weekly lesson. Lessons for the month should be paid for in advance and I do my best to reschedule or credit any cancellations I get 48 hours, or more, in advance.... I realize we all have busy schedules which we sometimes cannot control.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First we talk about the student's goals and objectives and get an idea of what else may be going on with their weekly schedule... that way I can best prepare a customized approach to learning that fits the student's goals and objectives.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have been teaching guitar and bass to beginning and intermediate students for over 45 years. I teach a blend of a formalized approach to written music and music theory along with tablature methods so the student will have the capabilities they need to explore the songs they want to play on their own as well as during lessons.
