Introduction: I am a freelance professional engineer, interested in helping your company at peak workload times when the demand for the latest AutoCAD design skills exceeds your resources. I've developed a wide range of skills during my over 30 years' engineering career, but none were as rewarding as my 6 years as an AutoCAD designer in the automotive and electrical industries. Unfortunately, I was forced to put my career on hold 6 years ago when I was diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery and treatment. After five years in remission, I am now considered cured. The experience taught me to value a balanced life, and for me, life without work is unbalanced, leading me to offer my services as a freelancer dedicated to the area about which I am most passionate -- AutoCAD design. I found my days tremendously fulfilling in recent months when I updated my AutoCAD skills using refresher courseware recommended by MIT for an experienced professional. The self-directed software helped me enhance and expand my existing skills. As a result, I created an extensive portfolio of mechanical and some architectural drawings that reflect the latest design technology, including 3-D design. Freelancing also required me to multitask and manage multiple assignments, always meeting deadlines. My ability to focus and efficiently manage my time enabled me to work independently without distraction and at an even pace. Now that I am not dedicated to a full-time position, I plan to devote myself to one project at a time, allowing me to be flexible and available to my clients.
