Introduction: I am an experienced, certified teacher interested in tutoring students of all ages who are learning English as a second language. I would like to help you improve your English language speaking, writing, reading and listening skills. I have 7+ experience teaching and tutoring English abroad and in America to students of all ages. I have helped students prepare for exams (School Leaving Exams, TOEFL, FCE) and improve professional English communication skills. In my teaching, I use a variety of interesting activities, strategies and methods to reach students who have different learning styles and limited English proficiency. I take a personalized, student-centered approach to teaching, focusing on the areas of English you need to work on most: Pronunciation, writing, grammar, speaking, listening, or reading. I was absolutely sutisfied with Amanda' s teaching. I have known her for 14 years. I was really glad to attend all her lessons. She is first-rate in her teaching, nice,friendly, open-minded, talkative and helpful. I have liked her ideas for funny and interesting activities. She was creative , tried to make her lessons variable and attractive in all ways.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, I like to set up a meeting with a potential new student and talk to them face to face about their experiences with learning English in the past, their current expectations regarding English lessons, and their future goals. During this conversation, I begin to assess the student's current language proficiency, and also start to formulate some ideas and strategies for how we could proceed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master's degree in ELL (English Language Learning) and a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate with special endorsements in teaching Young Learners and Professional English. How did you get started doing this type of work?
I wanted to be a teacher ever since I was a little girl and would play "school" with my younger brother. My focus narrowed to teaching English as a second language in 2002 when I moved to Slovakia and began teaching English there.
