Hiring Gene to plan the most amazing day of our lives was the smartest choice that my fiancé (at the time) and I could have ever made. We both work full time jobs, we remain involved in our community and we are full time parents of two lovely children. Needless to say, there was no time for us to even think of a wedding let alone plan one. Gene worked with us from the very beginning until the very end. His calm and patient nature relaxed us when we encountered our most difficult decisions. His organization and ability to pay attention to the littlest detail is truly masterful. To any bride out there who wants to work with a coordinator who's warm and fun, totally positive, and very professional and efficient and will really listen to your vision for your day, I would totally recommend Gene. When our wedding day finally arrived I was able to relax and enjoy my handsome husband as we laughed and danced the night away. Gene made sure of it and wouldn’t of had it any other way. If you want your special day to be one to remember, make sure that Gene is by your side. Trust me, you will be so glad you did.
Renee was outstanding. She delivered big time and then some)!! My (now) husband and I were blown away. Our guests were so impressed by the flowers, that we did everything within our very modest budget and, most of all, at the transformation of our wedding and reception venues in a few short hours. This was in VERY large part because of Renee, We had a small (~35 guests) beach wedding which we decided to have only 2 weeks earlier.... So, initially I was thinking for my bouquet I might just get an FTD arrangement through a retail outlet and wrap the stems myself to turn it in to a bouquet. Since the wedding was organized around family vacation and was out of state for us all I decided to see if I could afford to 'outsource' this detail and posted the need for a bridal bouquet on Thumbtack. I assumed that with my budget I could only afford a bridal bouquet and no other flowers. My posting only mentioned the bridal bouquet and Renees bid was within my budget. When I contacted Renee about her bid she asked me a few questions about the ceremony - time of day, attire, who would be participating, what I had in mind in terms of décor for the ceremony & reception, etc. I provided my input and I sent her a few pictures via email of flowers and bouquets I liked. I selected Renee to provide my bouquet. I was very pleasantly surprised later when I realized she was willing to bring it to me (no additional charge) instead of me having to make arrangements to pick it up. Renee could have easily provided me a bridal bouquet (for me to pick-up) and I would have been very happy with it and the price. However, because she has experience and because she cared, she listened to my responses. In the process, she picked up on the fact that my fiancés 3 children (and my dog) were a key part of our union and gave me some great ideas and options. Renee worked her magic through the wholesaler, using what was available/in season I was able to get flowers for the entire wedding party. Even though I posted the opportunity on Thumbtack a week before the wedding, Renee went to the wholesaler and sent pictures of what she was thinking a few days prior to the wedding to be sure I was happy with what she had in mind/ had interpreted from our phone conversation. In all, I ended up having flowers for 9 participants (listed below). All of the flowers were fresh and beautifully presented. bridal bouquet (It was perfect ! Exactly the look/feel I was hoping for. Also, Renee attached a small keepsake charm to the ribbon that wrapped around the stems of the bouquet it was such a thoughtful touch. This is now on my charm bracelet as the memento of our wedding day) boutonniere for the groom a small version of my bouquet for my step daughter small boutonnieres for my two step sons a rose for my husband and I to each give our new mother-in-law rose petals for my niece and step daughter to scatter (in addition to rose petals Renee pre-arranged on the sand aisle) a very nice surprise: a boutonniere for my dog (he walked me down the aisle / is the reason my husband and I met). We attached it to his collar and it looked great and he didnt seem to mind it at all. Im so glad I wasnt the only one with flowers. Evidently flowers make everyone (guys included) feel special. I was surprised when my husband told me how glad he was that he and his two young boys had boutonnieres. Looking at the pictures I am too!! We are so lucky I found Renee. She was amazing - she is not just a florist, she is a wedding and event planner. It is evident she has lots of event planning experience and that she loves what she does. While I hired her to provide flowers she did so much more. Renee's help made a huge difference in our wedding day - she was so professional, calm and genuinely interested in doing whatever she could to help make the day beautiful and stress free. In addition to all the flowers Renee brought ladders and an 'event tool box' with her just in case. Both turned out to be essential. In no way was Renee pushy or overbearing yet she had no issue taking charge of getting the ceremony site ready . She didn't flinch when I left her with a general area of beach for the ceremony, a pile of fabric, an unassembled bamboo chuppah (arch) and 4 guys (muscle) for her to direct while I went to start getting myself ready. The guys thought she was great to work with and the results were fantastic. Renee knew exactly what needed to be done and how to make it work The following were just second nature to her. -the best positioning of the arch so I (the bride) would make an entranceover the dune and around a slight bend -how to construct the arch (Renees standard height ladders were invaluable) -best positioning & spacing of the chairs -how to drape and secure the fabric (thank goodness for Renees tool box) -how to make the table for our 'sand ceremony' look amazing -to rake the sand for the aisle and make it gorgeous with rose petals prior to the flower girls trip down the aisle -add many other decorative touches with items I had available (tiki torches for the reception were used at the ceremony site and dressed-up with some extra ribbon and tulle I had in a pile of extra stuff Honestly it looked like a beach wedding at a high-end resort. Renee didnt stay on the beach to see the ceremony and taking of pictures because once she saw that I made it down the aisle she went back to the beach house and dressed things up quite a bit for the reception. She used extra fabric I had rented to cover the tables, hung some lights and made the cake table look fantastic. I just cant say enough about Renee and the miracle of me finding her. She was so calm and I could tell she knew exactly what she was doing. I also knew that in the midst of her helping with all the other things, she would get the flowers to the right people at the right time. This really made things a lot less stressful for me - and by extension, much less stressful for a lot of other people  I would definitely recommend Renee to anyone planning an event! She is professional, has great ideas, a great demeanor and clearly loves (and is very good at) what she does. Renee is amazing in terms of what she can get done, her willingness to go above and beyond and in how she beautiful she can make things. She is efficient, reasonably priced, puts her clients first and will roll-up her sleeves to make your event a success.
Black Tie Affair did an amazing job with our wedding. Brooke went above and beyond all of my expectations. She offered very valuable insight and mentioned things that I didnt know about. She saved us money on several items, we ended up putting that extra money towards our honeymoon. Black Tie Affair handled the bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception. Everything was beautiful and flawless. Black Tie Affair was very through when it came to setting up and design, they created some very unique ideas that everyone was complimenting. As far as making sure that my wedding day ran smoothly, they did a fantastic job making sure that everything was taken care of and I didn't have to handle or talk to a single vendor all day. I could really focus on my new husband and family and have the greatest day of our lives. I can easily look back at our wedding day with no stress and great memories.
