Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: When teaching music to students, I want to make it fun for them! Through the years, I’ve been able to refine different teaching techniques for different types of learners. I love working with students of all ages one on one with their instrument. Lessons are 30-45 minutes depending on the age, level, or type of lessons. My students all have individual ways of learning and so I choose books and sheet music based on their learning styles. If my students want a particular piece to play, I will even arrange it for them so they can learn to play what they want to play! I do not teach a curriculum; I teach the student. I have a passion for music and I love when I'm able to see that passion or enjoyment in them as well!

Jennifer has been teaching my children for two years. While I can gush & say she's wonderful, what I like most about Jennifer is that she truly loves music & is a musician & that shows thru her teaching style with the students. This IS her job. It's not viewed as something on the side she does in her spare time. If you are looking for a someone who is a qualified teacher & takes the lessons seriously while making it fun....well, look no further. My children have learned so very much from her. She is very organized which is great!!! She's easy to talk to and relates well with different ages. There is a comfortable quality about Jennifer that puts the children at ease. She is very knowledgeable and talented and relates well with children. She is very understanding, patient & kind with the littlest of beginners and provides challenging pieces to the more advanced. Moving to her studio was the best thing I did for my children - my children now WANT to play, rarely do I have to remind someone to practice. I love the fact that the students are given incentives to do better & be better...the opportunity to memorize pieces of work...emphasis on mastering a piece of music before quickly moving to the next page....there is variety in the music played. She provides wonderful workshops throughout the year which are to better the student & their understanding of music. Through her love & genuine passion for music, she is instilling in my children that same appreciation and love. Here's what my children have to say: "I like the way she teaches & makes my lessons interesting" - age 13 "She's really nice & make piano fun" - age 7

Jennifer has been teaching my children guitar and piano for years and we are extremely pleased with her instruction and the kids love her! She is kind and patient while encouraging them to strive for improvement. Jennifer has a true love of teaching music theory and that is very apparent.

Jennifer was my flute teacher for about two years. During that time she challenged and improved my musical skills. She's one of the best musical instructors I've ever had the opportunity to learn from. I definitely would reccommend her to anyone wishing to learn or improve musically.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My half hour lesson is $18 but there is a sibling discount. When one child takes lessons at $18, the second sibling is $16. I also offer a 15% discount off of your invoice when you refer someone to me. In their second month of lessons, you will receive the 15% off.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Back in 1996, my friend wanted me to start teaching him piano. I was a high school senior back then but even then, I knew that music was my life! Through college, I continued my music lessons adding students through word of mouth in Queens, NY. In college, I received my Bachelors in Music Education, K-12. I wanted to use that while allowing my students to receive that one on one that leads to the BEST way of learning!

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with all ages from 5 all the way up to 75! Music is for everyone and I want to make sure that we can all enjoy it
