Introduction: I am actively involved with my students for every minute of their lessons, whether I am listening, demonstrating, or playing along with them. My goal is for students to enjoy music, to make playing a regular part of their lives, and to develop as musicians, so we spend time on not only repertoire, theory, and technique but also on learning how to practice. Each student is an individual who has particular goals and a personal style of learning and communicating, so lesson materials and teaching approach vary depending upon what I think will best serve that student. I am thrilled to hear students develop as musicians, to see them concentrate, work hard, and achieve mastery.

I can't say enough about Katie Rudolph. My son was 15 when he decided he wanted to take piano lessons. I found Katie on line and emailed her regarding lessons. In my email, I was sure to tell her that this may very likely be a temporary student (I honestly did not think he would stay interested). After a year and a half, my son still looks very forward to his lessons with Katie. He absolutely loves her. She is kind, intelligent, motivating, and dare I say, "hip". She keeps him on his toes and that's not easy to do with a (now) 16 year old. I can't say enough about her and I am so glad we found her. I have a hard time believing that anyone else could have kept him as motivated as she does. She is absolutely fantastic!

Katie is extremely knowledgable in her craft. She is very diverse with training materials. This makes learning fun and more well rounded. FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Lessons are once per week, and the cost per lesson depends upon the length of the lesson -- 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes. Lessons are paid at the beginning of the month for each month. If a student cancels a lesson with less than 24 hours' notice, that lesson is charged, but I'll do my best to reschedule it. If I cancel a lesson, we'll either reschedule or that lesson will be credited toward the next month.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have a number of approaches to teaching. The path taken depends upon the student's history and experience and my own assessment of that student's personality and learning style.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a professional musician for 40 years, so I play my instrument regularly in a variety of settings. I have taught privately for 20 years and stay current with teaching methods, materials, and philosophies.
