We help property owners in Central PA overcome the challenges resulting from unexpected damages to their homes and businesses. Mark and his team provided emergency mitigation of water damage to our ceiling over our first floor when our son flooded the toilet on the second floor. Service was prompt and professional and the work completed by the end of the same week. They did such a great job that the part of the ceiling affected is now completely undetectable. I'm so glad we found these guys.

Our basement flooded on a Sunday evening. I frantically searched online for help and Turning Point Restoration appeared to be my best option. I called, and within a few hours they had come to my home, assessed the situation, provided a verbal ballpark cost range estimate,* and set up 31 pieces of equipment to dry things out. They were fast, efficient, and professional. It was literally a Special Ops team attacking the enemy in our home. But they did so politely. They put down protectors to keep our carpet and flooring clean in areas not affected by the flooding. The equipment they brought in was cleaned to perfection. I later realized that they had thoroughly cleaned it after previous use so that they would not contaminate our home with mold, etc., from their last job prior to mine. Mark Tretter was our main point of contact and he was the consummate gentleman. He was prompt, professional, and personable. He ran the operation with military precision and excellence. If you need major help ASAP, call Turning Point Restoration. *(They explained that cost was determined by the number of days it took to dry the basement to an acceptable level, which is unknowable at the beginning. They said they would be back daily to measure the moisture in the air and remove the equipment only after the home had dried adequately. They thought the job would take 3-5 days. They were done in 3. They gave me a discount because I did some of the work myself that had been included in the initial estimate).

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We use industry software called Xactimate as a guideline for pricing. Xactimate is a property estimating program designed for claims adjusters, contractors, and insurance carriers. Adjusters/Contractors are able to key in the type and quantity of material damaged for a particular claim. Xactimate is able to generate a cost-estimate for returning that property to its pre-damaged condition. It is a well-conceived, highly developed, and powerful program.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We believe the most important process for working with new customers is communication. With solid communication from the very beginning of each project, our customers will have a complete understanding of the scope of work to be completed, the processes to be used, and timeline for completion. We also inform our customers daily of job progress and are happy to answer any questions they may have.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our technicians are certified in all areas of restoration from the IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification). We take our trade very seriously. Training and using the latest in technology keeps us sharp and allows us to serve our customers in a way that exceeds expectations. We are also an EPA Certified Firm and an active member of the Alliance of Independent Restorers.
