FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We try to flat rate price as much as possible. For example, a local pool table move is a flat rate. A standard installation is a flat rate. Generally a local pool table move starts at $450, while longer moves say PA to Florida may be $2200. The add on for a 1pc slate is $50 for a 7ft and $100 for an 8ft. New cushions add $275 plus cloth.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically the process for working with a new customer is same regardless of job type. We need to know who we are talking to, what they need/want and when they would like it done by. Once we know all the relevant details we quote based on services needed which are mostly flat rate, or materials cost which vary based on our costs. Once scheduled we will follow up a few days before the day of the job, to confirm time and addresses. After completion we follow up to make certain the job went well. On the rare case there was an issue, we schedule to make it right as soon as possible. No one is perfect, but a true professional always wants to make right any mistakes. We have a very high customer retention and referral rate because of this.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
There really arent any places you can go to school to learn this trade, because it is such a niche. As the owner, I learned the hard way over 16+ years. Now I teach new guys and update seasoned techs in the business on how to do things the right way from the beginning. Of course, I am still actively expanding my skill set and thus always push those I train to do the same. We do make it a point to attend as many trade related functions as possible. In fact we just sent 6 of our people to the Championship sponsored pool table installation seminar in NJ. It pays to stay current if not set the pace of the industry.
