FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our home pricing is based upon the home's total finished square footage. If your home is a condominium (condo), let us know when placing your order as condo inspections are slightly less cost since a home and condo inspection are slightly different. We also offer termite/WDI inspections, radon testing, mold testing, infrared (IR) thermography [also known as thermal imaging], well water quality testing, and well flow analysis, and more.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before (often several days) the inspection, I email the client a confirmation email with a link to read and esign our inspection agreement. The inspection agreement is a contract that helps ensure reasonable expectations of the inspection process and also states what is and is not included in a home inspection, the standards followed, etc. Once onsite, I give a quick overview of the inspection process. Most onsite inspections are approx. 3 hours in duration where I encourage the client to attend and walk through with the inspection, if at all possible. During the inspection, the inspector reviews the major systems and components of the home and the inspector shows the client any defects/flaws that come to light. After the inspection, we give a quick summary of the issues found and recommendations. The inspection report is typically delivered within a few hours after the inspection via email. Our reports are generally about 40 pages in length and are very detailed with noting the issues with photos, reporting the systems that are functioning properly, and maintenance recommendations.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earn at least 22 hours of continuing education yearly to stay on top of the latest construction and building trends and standards. I also achieve additional continuing education yearly to perform radon testing, Termite/WDI inspections, etc. I am an ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors) Certified Inspector, a Level 1 Certified Infrared Thermographer, a US Dept. of Energy Home Energy Score Assessor, and an engineer
