Stress and Pain Relief
What do you love about your job?
Believe it or not, this is a tough question. I love seeing instant results, such as when the muscles just look tight and painful, and after a session, there is an instant visual difference, with the client experiencing less pain and greater range of motion. Meeting new people and being able to help them with their pain is a blessing. The more I do this work, the more I am able to help.
What or who inspired you to start your own business?
Massage is a passion for me. After a serious car accident in 2000 left me in the hospital for one month, I endured chronic pain throughout my body. After the doctors, pills, physical therapy, and surgeries, I was still battling pain issues. I found massage. It significantly reduced my pain and lessened the stress that I was experiencing. After 10 years of receiving massages, I had a weird dream one night that caused me to call a massage school and sign up for night classes by the end of the week. I graduated from school in 2010 with a 3.8 GPA. I went out into the massage world and worked a few places, and then I decided that I wanted to live the dream and work for myself.
Describe your most memorable project.
My most memorable client has to be a woman that has been seeing me for almost two years now. She presented with limited range of motion in both arms. Being unable to do her own hair or the straps to her bra were her main concerns. After just four visits, her pain level was almost down to zero, and she was experiencing a drastic improvement in her range of motion. A visit or two later, she was smiling from ear to ear when I saw her, and she said, "" I can do it now. I can do it!"
