Introduction: ***PLEASE NOTE*** During the corona virus pandemic, I am not practicing massage. All spas and salons are closed indefinitely, and I will be following theirs, and PA state guidelines for re-opening my business. Be assured that I will update my profile, once it is deemed safe to resume business. Thank you for your understanding, and please stay safe and well! I believe that a practitioner's attitude and level of empathy for others is as equally important as their ability. This may be a risky statement for me to make, but anyone who has hands can perform a massage. Yes; it's imperative to know the human body to perform an effective massage and to avoid injury. But the truth is we've been performing massage since the beginning of humanity. What's the first thing we do when we bump our leg in the dark in the middle of the night? We rub it. It's treating the whole person; mind, body and spirit that makes a great therapist. My ability to put myself in the client's position; both on and off the table is what I feel sets me apart. The interaction with clients, and seeing them feel better over time. Truly amazing!

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Massage therapists are required to complete twenty-four hours of continuing education every two years. And ethics is at the forefront of that education. We are also required to be licensed, with a two-year renewal required. We are also required to be certified in CPR every two years.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I could write a book on this one; lol. It's the best career decision I've ever made; hands down. I was designed to help others; I only wish I wouldn't have wasted the first half of my life doing something else.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Hiring a massage therapist is like hiring any other health professional. If you don't feel comfortable with the first one you work with; keep looking. We are all just people; with our own thoughts, opinions, and personalities. It's crucial that we find a massage therapist with whom we can fully relax and thus fully benefit from the massage.
