Bill and his team were able to come out on short notice to help fix a tile and plumbing issue in my bathroom. They were on time, professional and completed the job above my expectations. I have already hired them back to install drywall in my kitchen. Great company to work with.

This was my first experience using Thumbtack. Dan did a subway tile installation in our kitchen and also removed ceiling fans in 2 bedrooms and re-wired and installed chandeliers in their places. Dan was great to work with and I'll definitely contact him for other projects in the future.

Kevin installed two bathroom light fixtures and one was particularly tricky to install. He did amazing job and I couldn’t be happier. I also had Kevin look at some upcoming project ideas: refinishing kitchen cabinets and putting in backsplash tile. His quotes are reasonable and fair. He really knows his stuff. I’m looking forward to having Kevin do more work for me in the future.

Emilio showed up when he said he would, and completed the job with great attention to detail. He set some large format porcelain tile for me and covered over 300 sq ft. of space in addition to repairing some poor tile work that had previously existed. Completed the job on time and stuck to his original quote. Will be using Padilla home improvement again for other projects.

There are some things in our home that my husband is able to do, and then, there are things that my husband is not experienced in doing. So we called Complete Construction and had them install all new windows in our home, along with french doors and ceramic tile in our kitchen. We wanted to finish our basement, and had them install ceramic tile on the basement floor and paneling on the walls. They did a beautiful job on all of it! My husband and I are very satisfied with the work that was done and we'd recommend Complete Construction and Handyman Services to anyone looking to have projects done in their home.

Joe and his brother did an excellent job installing crown and base molding for us. Their workmanship and attention to detail was fantastic. They even repaired and touched up our existing molding without even asking. I will definitely be hiring them again for future projects.

Done in a very timely manner. Mark had the patience to answer all my questions, even when I thought I was going overboard. One of the most kindest person to meet let alone being hired as a contractor. He took his time in getting the work done, no impression that he had to get this done to meet any deadline. He thoroughly worked out a great layout for the tile - floor design we asked for so it was centered and eye catching. Quality of work was excellent, very neat during work, especially after he finished. Would always recommend him without hesitaiton

Our GC hired Catania after we found him on this website to tile two new bathrooms. Unfortunately, the workmanship was not acceptable - with tile not centered, spacing inconsistent and uneven (not smooth to the touch), and now we are really upset that John is not calling our GC back to resolve this unfortunate situation as a true professional contractor would. Problems happen. How you handle them and take responsibility is what makes you a true professional. I will update this review when John follows through with his promise to take responsibility for the problem he has created on our project.

Dear Rebolledo's Construction Company, Jeovonie,Martin and Martin Jr. I Am writing to convey my appreciation and thanks for the wonderful performance by Your Family company. Your Family owned business was everything I had hoped for when I selected a general contractor. The attention to detail, professionalism and quality of workmanship is evident throughout. You covered up everything upon doing all work, and you cleaned up every day also placing everything to its proper place. You were on time every day and let me know how close you were to my home, so I and my dogs could go upstairs while you newly renovated my downstairs. A special thanks for picking up all the materials to complete my project. Especially the flooring, which you had to drive at least an hour out of your way to get. My Bellawood Flooring you put in is absolutely gorgeous, And my ceramic tile in my kitchen is flawless, as well as the painting and all the drywall/wallboard you replaced in my house. The plumbing in the kitchen is impeccable, as well as the repair you did in the bathroom. A special thanks in getting to know my 4 Boxer Dogs that were full of high energy, and being so patient with them and me as they would run down the steps like a herd of elephants out the door in the yard to go to the bathroom. It was a pleasure to work with you and your family and I look forward to working with your company again on future projects. Thank you again and please know that I would be happy in referring your Company to everyone. As I look around at everything you have done, I see a dedicated family owned Business, that treats everything as if it were their own. Also it is great to have my contractors as my Facebook friends !!! KUDOS FOR A JOB WELL DONE👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I could not be more happy with the product and installation provided by Len Pritchett, owner of Floor Coverings International! I purchased carpet, laminate and ceramic tile. Len provides incredibly helpful customer service and the three different installers were some of the best I have ever experienced! I will definitely use this company again and highly recommend Floor Coverings International to everyone!

Olly arrived on time and did what he said he would do. He was personable, timely, and tidy. We needed to have the drywall behind our water heater replaced due to water damage, before we could have the new water heater installed. We also decided we wanted to complete the ceramic tile flooring that had been installed around the around water heater but not under it, so that the new water heater will rest on tile at the same level as the rest of the floor. This required carefully removing the tiles that had been cut to curve around it, then installing new tiles to fill in the gap. The work was cleanly-finished, with respectable craftsmanship, and Olly also left that part of our utility room way cleaner than he found it. Olly will now be our go-to person for small projects and repairs around our house.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to tile a shower?

The cost of tiling a shower depends on two main factors: the size of the shower and the quality of the tiles. In general, most professional tilers charge an average of $25 per square foot of tiled area and the national average cost for a tile installation project is $490-$750. The tiles themselves are the greatest variable; the cost depends on their size, shape, pattern and manufacturer. For example, tile purchased at a volume discount from a big-box store cost far less than tiles made in small batches by an artisan ceramics shop. Prices can range from as little as $1 to $50 or more per square foot of tile. Other factors that will drive up the total tile installation cost are grout and mortar, speciality tiles like bullnose caps or soap holders, and surface prep materials, especially if drywall needs to be replaced before the tile can be installed. Many tile installers will also remove and haul away any old materials from an existing shower installation.

How much does it cost to install a ceramic tile floor?

Tile installation costs for ceramic floors depend on the type of tile you select. You can purchase tile that sells for under $2 per square foot or tile that costs $50 per square foot — or more for artisanal and hand-painted tiles. The cost of labor to install a tile floor will also depend on the tile you select. It is far less labor-intensive to install a white 12-inch by 12-inch square tile than a 2-inch by 2-inch hexagonal tile with a distinct pattern. That extra time and energy equates to a higher per-square-foot installation cost. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for labor to install wood-look tile in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet. That same pro may charge $6 or more per square foot for a more intricate pattern, or a smaller space. Some installers may charge a minimum day rate for ceramic tile floor installation, such as $340 minimum per day, to cover business expenses and employee wages. If you’re looking to reduce costs, removing your existing flooring and handling any repairs needed can help eliminate prep work costs. Prep work may be charged per hour and could cost anywhere from $25 to $80 per hour or more, depending on the region and the type of repair work necessary.

How much does it cost to tile a bathroom?

Tile installation costs are a key part of your bathroom remodel costs. The tile you select (which can range from under $2 per square foot to $50 per square foot or more), the demolition and repair work required prior to installation, and the size of the job will all affect cost. You can install tile in the shower, on the counters, on the wall or on the floor. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Bathroom tile is easy to clean and durable for daily life. Here are some examples of average bathroom tile installation costs:

    • Tile installation at $25 per square foot of tiled bathroom area.
      • A standard tub and shower combo requires tiles for approximately 60 inches of length. Calculate wall height and add 30 to 36 inches of tub width for the walls at the head and foot of the tub. If the tile walls are 6 feet to 8 feet high, in this example, the tile installation costs would run about $2,000. Price includes materials.
    • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with an 8-foot ceiling: $1,450. Price includes materials.
    • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with a 10-foot ceiling: $1,650. Price includes materials.

How much does it cost to install tile?

Tile installation costs vary widely depending on the tiles you choose, where you want them installed, and what kind of demolition and surface preparation you need to have done. The national average cost for a tile installation project is $490-$750. The more tiles that need to be cut by hand and laid on the surface, the higher the total cost. Tile installation professionals can handle many different types of stone, ceramic and porcelain tiles, applying them in kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and entranceways. They can create anything from artistic mosaic backsplashes in your kitchen to modern shower enclosures to rustic patios in your backyard. Tile installation professions often can remove existing flooring or old tiles and replace drywall. Tile prices range from $1 to more than $50 per square foot — handmade ones are even priced individually — depending on the material. Rustic, handmade or special-use tiles cost more to install because they must be applied to the surface one by one, rather than in a sheet. For most jobs, tile installation costs are based on the square footage of the project. For example, a standard 6-foot by 8-foot shower tile installation can average $1,200-$1,600, depending on whether the tiles go to the top of the shower or to the ceiling. The total cost of a tiling project also includes the grout and mortar, speciality tiles like bullnose caps, and tile mounting materials like backer board.

How much does it cost to install tiles in a kitchen?

One of the most common kitchen upgrades is installing decorative backsplash tiles in the space between the counters and cabinets. It’s a chance for homeowners to get creative while also protecting the kitchen walls from splashes and stains. Like all tiling projects, kitchen tile project costs depend on the tiles you choose, installation materials such as grout and mortar, and any surface materials, like replacement backer board. The national average for a tiled kitchen backsplash is $490-$750. In general, pricing averages $10-$40 per square foot for installation, not including tile. Some professional tile installers have a minimum day rate for small projects, which averages $350.
