I had a boudoir shoot done on 2/5/19 for a valentines day gift for my soon to be husband (kara will more than likely do my wedding photography too) it's the first time I very done anything like this so I was a little nervous and scared, but kara definitely eased me into it and she did amazing. 7/25: I hired Kara for my wedding 2 months in advance. We paid everything in full a month out per her request. Unfortunately, while I was getting my hair done, a half hour before my wedding was about to happen, she cancelled on me. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt but the reasons just did not make sense. Additionally, she was not willing to provide a refund for the money we paid her. I understand things happen that are out of control, but what she was telling me was something that could have been prepared for in advance. I do not recommend her and hope that no one would ever have to deal with the situation that she put me through on the most important day of my life. 8/9: The refund has been received.Aug 9, 2019VerifiedKara Del Peschio Photography's reply
Hi Kate. I'm sorry that you weren't happy with your experience with us. The day of your wedding, I was driving a different vehicle that was lended to me other than my own because I had been in a car accident prior to your wedding day and my vehicle was totaled. I wasn't sure if I would've been able to make it on time to your wedding or at all because the vehicle I was driving started having issues. I called to explain the situation to you, but your Mother answered and I was unable to speak with you as you were getting your hair done. I then received a phone call from your Father who was very understanding & he made arrangements with the Church for the ceremony to start a half hour after it was to start due to me having car issues (at this point, I was able to borrow another family members vehicle thankfully and was able to drive to your wedding.) I then received a text from your phone from your Mother stating that she no longer needed my services, she found a replacement for me and she expected a full refund within 5 days. I explained to her what my contract said and that I would refund her what wasn't already spent for travel, hotel (because I gave you a deal on your package and did not have you book me a hotel per my contract because you booked me last minute and I was genuinely trying to help you out.) So I paid for my hotel and my travel expenses out of the total amount your Father paid me. Your Mother was not happy with this. In the end, I gave your Father a full refund after being harassed and my name and business being slandered across every platform for the most part. I never refused to give you a refund, I was just simply following the guidelines of my contract that we all signed upon you booking me for my services. Also, the Agreement with your lawyer was that I gave you a full refund and you remove your reviews, which you did not uphold your end of the Agreement unfortunately. Again, I do apologize for any inconvenience and I truly hope that even with my absence at your wedding, that your wedding day was still amazing as you had two photographers instead of one in place of me. - How did you get started doing this type of work?my wedding inspired me. I wanted to create timeless images that made couples wanted to marry eachother over and over again.
