I'm happy I decided to start taking guitar lessons. The teacher is friendly, very knowledgeable, and patient. I feel like I've learned a lot and I look forward to learning more. Lessons are reasonably priced and I feel like I'm getting my money's worth.
Emily has been providing weekly violin lessons to our 11-year-old for the last 9 months. Her skill and interest in playing the violin have grown immensely since they have been working together. Our daughter looks forward to her lessons and says Emily is strict but she is really, really fun.
Timely lesson periods and efficient instruction for my son who is a beginner in Violin.
My daughter had been taking violin through school for several years, but never really learned the basics. She seemed to be falling further and further behind, but she kept at it. I finally found Miss Becki online and decided it was time for private lessons. My daughter now plays with more confidence and went from the last chair to the second chair in her high school orchestra. Miss Becki is patient and understanding and gave my daughter the attention she needed.
My 5-year-old had been taking lessons with Ms. Sternick for the past 6 months. Violin lessons are the highlight of our week. My daughter loves her instruction time with Ms. Sternick. She is very skilled with teaching young children and presenting techniques in a fun and interactive way.
My 9 years old daughter loves having violin lessons with Yaniv. He is great teacher, attentive and cares for his students. Highly recommend.
Probably one of the most helpful teachers I ever seen. The studio is well located and very organized. I would highly recommend her to any one how is looking to learn violin and, at the same time, have a great time!
Ashley challenges my daughter while also making her lessons fun. Ashley seeks out developmentally appropriate pieces for both technical and performance-based skills. My daughter has gained confidence with and commitment to her violin in the year that she has worked with Ashley.
Joyce was an amazing musical mentor for my daughter. On top of her outstanding technical and teaching skills, Joyce was skilled at thoughtfully challenging students to excel. She sought out alternative performance opportunities for her and coached her through execution. Joyce provided my daughter not only with the performance skills that led a non-music major to earn a material, four year music scholarship, but also with life lessons of goal setting, creating a plan to achieve goals and the joy of accomplishing them with finesse. Please know that your chilld's "music teacher" can be so much more than a person who can teach one to play an instrument. Joyce will do that with patience, kindness and humor with many bonus life lessons included!
Violin and viola are my specialties. I teach private violin and viola lessons. I have an over a decade of experience in performing paid gigs on both instruments and seven years of formal teaching, including five years as an orchestra teacher working with violin, viola, cello, and bass. I have a degree in Bachelor of Music in Music Education.
What I like most is seeing how ever child is truly different and running with that experience to teach them for what they need.
I provide violin lessons to students of all skill levels. Students ages four to adults are welcome. I draw from the Suzuki method, Barbara Barber, and several other schools of violin playing. Whether you are seeking out individualized instruction and have specific goals, or want to explore the violin as a hobby, I'm here to help! I believe that you are never too young and never too old to learn an instrument. Getting started can sometimes be the hardest part, and that's what I'm here for.
We go above and beyond expectations in AND out of the studio. The Givi School of Music provides optional performance opportunities throughout the year. It's extremely satisfying to work individually; as well as seeing their weekly progress!
My first questions are always, "What is your goal while you are taking lessons?" and "What do you want to achieve?" Everyone's answer is a little different. Most younger students want to get a head start before they play in the orchestra at school. My older students want to be able to play in ensembles at church or just to jam with some friends. I take their answers and try to apply them to their lessons. Lessons are once a week and range from 30 minutes to an hour. I work with beginner students of all ages, working on basics of violin bowing, music theory, and technique. All beginners must advance to a certain level before they are ready to jump into difficult music. Everyone must learn to read music, play beautifully, and understand musical concepts, and I will get you there! I have been playing violin for 18 years and teaching for 6 years. I studied at Slippery Rock University and have a degree in violin performance studies under the direction of Dr. Warren Davidson. I have been playing with the Butler Symphony for 6 years. I have played in numerous country, bluegrass, and blues bands over the years. I love teaching all different styles of music.
