Do not hire this contractor. This contractor was hired to remove a wall and install a beam to create a great room. He was very quick to meet to discuss the job and meet again to have the contract signed and receive his deposit. After the initial meeting he did not show up to do the work when he said he would be there. Sometimes when I contacted him to find out why he did not show up, he would respond. Other times, he would not respond. Eventually he did show up, but then had reasons that he could not do the work as originally agreed. With reservation, I agreed to the modified work plan. He did not finish the drywall as discussed and left the job saying that he couldn't make the surfaces match without extensive work and that it would look like a "bad patch job". He began accusing me that I was not going to pay him, harassing me with an onslaught of texts and emails and threatening to put a lien against my property EVEN THOUGH I had spoken with him on the phone and clearly told him that the check had been initiated through my bank and he said that was acceptable. A sample message exactly as it had been received read, "I not sure if your blocking my texts I'm not playing games I want my money for the work I performed I will be at the magistrates office Monday and this will cost you more. If you bring me a check or cash by 10 am tomorrow this will go away" Another message read, "your lying about this I'm not stupid I will proceed with my intentions Thank you This is F U" . From this experience, I strongly recommend that no one ever hires this contractor. He was paid as agreed immediately upon completion of his low-quality work.
