Molding or baseboards,
Iv hired many subcontractors for this rental property and all of them did a great or a reasonably good job on time. This is the only guy I hired who did amateurish work, and completely abandoned the project after taking up another job in the middle of my project. He has over promised and under-delivered. 1. Did not install kitchen cabinets as per contract. 2. Lied about working in my property ,even though I have timestamps from my alarm system , proving he was not at the property for an entire week. 3. Substituted work material without my knowledge or consent. 4. His paint-job had to be redone by my new contractor. 5. Did not fill up sidewalk patches as per contract and the ones that he did fill up needed to be redone. 6. Could not take constructive feedback of his shoddy sidewalk job and stopped showing up to work/ returning calls/text messages after that. 7. When I told him that I have no option but to hire a new handyman, as he has abandoned work and stopped returning my calls , he threatened me with breach of contract. 8. When I told him that I will report him to PA attorney general, he again threatened me with breach of contract. 9. Started criticizing me when I pointed out to him his contractual obligations. I felt unsafe after my interactions with this guy and had to install both interior and exterior security cameras on the property. 10. Left massive amounts of trash unpicked at the property for weeks after contract completion date. 11. Did not honor both his written and verbal agreements to finish the job on time and materially breached the contract himself. 12. Even after he delayed my work, did shoddy work and stopped returning calls, I decided to let it go and repeatedly gave him ample opportunity to return back to job-site to correct his mistakes and finish incomplete work, but he simply refused to do the work. 13. I had to hire another contractor and plumber to redo his work and finish up the incomplete work which ended up costing me more money in the end. If you want quality work , to be done on time, please stay away from this unethical and unprofessional handyman. Do not be fooled by his low prices.Mar 22, 2020Verified
Tackled a tough job. When he needed a part he went Lowes to pick it up, returned and completed the job in intense heat.Aug 22, 2019Verified
I am SO PLEASED with the work that was done! Blinds were installed for 6 windows and honestly, he did a great, quality job in a reasonable time. He was kind, courteous, and even took the boxes the blinds came in because he saw all the moving boxes I had. It was great to have someone reliable come and help me out!Aug 30, 2019Verified
He came to the house, checked out the problem, said he'd be back on Saturday with a bigger ladder and more equipment--and he was! He quickly fixed our broken flashing on the roof. Now we feel better about facing winter with driving rain and wind, feeling that our roof and walls are safe again.Nov 18, 2019Verified
My experience hiring John was very positive in all aspects of the job. He responded to my request quickly and with a fair estimate, showed up on time, and completed the job thoroughly and professionally. He even continued working through an unexpected downpour. I was impressed by his expertise in several different types of tasks, and highly recommend John for any projects around your home.Mar 10, 2020Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? For quick projects(installing an appliance, changing a light fixture or plumbing fixture, etc...) I charge by the hour, as well as a service call fee which is $30 within 30 minutes of Harrisburg. for larger projects(room remodels, painting, flooring, etc...) I will give an estimate based on the time needed to complete the project and the materials needed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? For small projects I try to gather as much information as I can over the phone or through text and can generally complete the task in one visit. For larger or more complex projects I schedule a time to meet with the customer, discuss the project and develop a scope of work.
