About this pro
We met Carol for our future pet sitting needs. We were very impressed, and feel relieved to have found someone we can trust to care for our 2 cats while we are away.Jul 7, 2017Verified

Thank you, Sharon. It was particularly kind of you to give me a review when you haven't even met me yet! I'll do all I can to justify your trust. Carol M.

Carol is an excellent pet sitter. She cares for my cat as if he was her own. She pays attention to detail in my cats moods, manners, eating habits and health. I get calls and messages if something comes up & a full report after I have returned home from my trips. My cat loves her!Jul 26, 2016

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I charge $25/visit for taking care of pets in other people's homes located 20 miles from my home in New Holland, PA, and $20/visit if the pet's home is within 10 miles of mine. That amount includes gas costs. I charge an additional $5 per dog or cat if I need to care for, or walk, more than one animal on the same visit.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I believe that the new customer should meet me before deciding whether I should be his/her pet sitter. The Internet is a wonderful tool, but can't replace face-to-face meetings for sensing whether a person can be entrusted with a pet. I also believe that the animal to be cared for (as well as the owner) should be given a chance to "approve/disapprove" of the pet sitter before job begins. After all, that pet will be left alone in the sitter's care. With dogs, it is essential for the owner and pet sitter to walk the dog together at least once before the owner's departure. The dog needs to realize that the owner has approved of the sitter, also. Otherwise (as was my experience once!) the dog may treat the sitter like an intruder the next time the sitter enters the pet's house!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I certainly would get additional training if I were aware of any for pet sitters in my area.
