What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is simple. I offer 3 levels: The Gold package is $500 and includes a copy of all digital files, $100 print credit and a custom foam board mounted collage. The Silver package includes 10 digital files and a $50 print credit. Or, if you're not sure what you want up front, you can do the ala carte package for $150. This allows you to pick and choose what you would like directly from your gallery after the session. I do offer mini-sessions if you need just a few shots (like head shots). Mini-Sessions are $75 and are a la carte pricing. Sessions last 15 minutes and are held in my home studio (indoor or outdoor).
How did you get started doing this type of work?
After having my first child, we hit every portrait studio possible. Even though they reel you in with cheap packages, you still spend a lot of money, pictures weren't edited, and digital prints were expensive (and unedited!). I knew there was something better I could offer to people.
