Chris reached out to me about my patio project. He walked me through his idea, a couple of options and understood my concerns clearly. We agreed on the job almost instantly, which involved ripping up an old weed infested brick patio and replacing it with stone and pavers, and also replacing the leg of the deck above that had rotted away. Chris took care to explain every step of the process and let me pick from some options for what I was thinking as well. He completed the job on time and without hassle. It really came out great and better than I expected. I wish Chris well and hope that he continues his great work on many more projects. We will definitely keep in touch for future projects.

This is hard to write but I owe the truth to those considering McGuire contracting. I waited 3 years to fill out this review in hopes that things would work out, unfortunately, even after reaching out to Christopher, they have not. I hired Christopher to gut and redo the back room in my house. I was promised it would take 4-6 weeks. I’m still waiting over 3 years later. Christopher was recommended to me by a friend who knew him. I trusted the friend. Bad choice. I had 3 cats and a dog. So everyday I had to make sure all 3 cats were held in a secure area (anyone knows that has cats, corralling them up is impossible lol) and I had to either take my dog with me or place my dog at someone’s house. I was willing to do this, because I trusted Christopher, and my friend said he was reliable. One occasion I came home to find he had opened the secure room with my cats, and he also had the back door wide open. It took me over an hour to locate my cats. Thank GOODNESS they were still in my house, just hiding. When I asked him about it, he said “I didn’t know you had cats” not true, because we had had numerous conversations about my pets and HIS pets. On several more occasions I would drive by my house to see the progress. HE WAS NOT AT MY HOUSE. I admit, I was irate when I called him, because I had spent valuable time before work to secure my pets ( not fair to my pets to be locked up if wasn’t going to bother to show), and his response was as follows: 1. He texted me but forgot to hit send 2. He had a flat tire 3. He thought he texted me 4. He overslept 5. His phone wasn’t working 6. He thought he told me 7. His phone died 8. He wasn’t able to work that day AND SO FORTH. He missed so many days of work over and over, and kept giving me excuses. Besides the frequent absences and the excuses for the absences, in order to help me with payments and costs, I would let him use my credit card to buy the supplies for everything, so that I ONLY paid him for the labor. I only did this because a good friend knew him. It didn’t work. He bought so many extra supplies that weren’t needed, and he would buy in bulk, so that my costs were crazy! When I asked him about the extra supplies there was always an excuse saying that he needed them (he never used them!) and there was always an excuse for the bulk orders (he was planning on using them for other projects in my house that I NEVER ASKED FOR OR NEEDED or for future projects AGAIN THAT I Never ASKED FOR). One day I told him I needed my credit card by 2pm, because I had to pay the vet to put my sick cat down. HE DIDNT SHOW TIL 4 PM AND DIDNT ANSWER THE PHONE AFTER I CALLED AND TEXTED MULTIPLE TIMES. I was in tears already and extremely upset losing my pet. His excuse, he DIDNT hear his phone. I finally had to end the working relationship when he didn’t show for OVER a week with no communication, and after I kept calling him and texting him and approaching my friend asking if he was ok. He finally stated that he just didn’t feel like finishing 5he back room. HE DIDNT FEEL LIKE FINISHING WHAT I CONTRACTED HIM FOR. I desperately tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, so we talked. He told m3 (and I also have it in writing from him) that he wouldn’t take the remaining $200 that I owed him, that I could pay someone else to finish my back room, and he would Pay for the remaining work that I would be paying someone else. HE DIDNT. At this point in time he asked me to write him a good review online, recommending his work. I told him I could not write a good review in good conscience because he NEVER FINISHED THE WORK. He told me he understood. Why I decided to finally write the review was because that even after ALL of that, I reached out and said all I needed was paperwork to show he worked on my house. That’s it, just paperwork! Not even that he finished, just paperwork saying he worked on it as a contractor. I’m selling my house and I was meeting with the realtor and all I needed was proof that he was here. HE DIDNT ANSWER ANY PHONE CALLS OR TEXTS when I reached out to him. I will admit, at this point I’m furious. I gave him so much leeway because a good friend knew him. And he couldn’t even provide me with paperwork stating he was here (not finishing the job, just that he was here). At this point I decided to post a review. To prospective clients, as nice as he appears, ITS NOT WORTH IT.

Chris was the BEST guy we come after talking to about a dozen people! I had to get trees removed & a stump gone to put rocks. I had him come out, he’s fully insured & he works his butt off! As he was doing the trees, he noticed a crack in my concrete wall that I’m going to have him do. He’s very good! I recommended him to my friends & family for other work. He does a lot of work- trees, plumbing, electrical, etc. I really appreciated his honesty & knowledge! Great guy!

Mcguire Contracting showed up on time and completed the project before the due date. Their workmanship is exceptional and our new exterior front door is now the best on our street! We have used him in the past to remodel our kitchen. We have gone thru at least 10 contractors and were giving up hope to find someone that would actually show up and provide the experience we’ve been working for. The company and morals they stand by are nothing like we’ve had work for us before and I highly recommend using them for any projects! We will be calling them back in the spring to sand our first flor down and renovate our deck and patio underneath!
