What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a Keystone Star provider, I take more than 15 hours of training per year. Each year I focus on child development, safety and administrative topics.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I opened my daycare after the birth of my first grandson. My mother raised my daughter and my mother-in-law raised my sons. How could I have done any less for my own grands? I'm proud to have the opportunity to establish a lifelong love of learning for my grands and the other children I care for.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We provide 24 hour care for parents who work non-traditional hours. We also offer continuity of care for children who attend Discovery Charter School.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When looking for a daycare provider, choose one that mirrors your philosophy in child rearing, offers fun and engaging activities for your child and dedicated to improving themselves by continuing their education with further training.
