I hate to say this because I was always told "if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all," but my honesty compels me to say that I was disappointed with the final result. Geno and crew seem like hard-working individuals who worked hard for several days to do some patch work around the chimney area and our back steps and then stucco the back and side wall of our 3 story house. I'm not an expert on stucco so I can't say for sure but it seems like we need a finish coat. Our walls look very rough and the color is the color of grey cement. I believed Geno when he pointed to some of the other houses around us and told me his work would look better than that. Our house is different now but I can't say that it's better. I thought the color would be much lighter. Again I'm no expert here and maybe we can paint the walls or put a top coat on it to dress it up. But my main complaint is about clean-up and care. They didn't cover the windows and there is stucco/cement on our windows. I did my best to clean the windows on the first floor and remove the dry loose cement from the frames but we still can't open one of the kitchen windows (I'm going out there now to try and remove more debris) and I don't know how I'm going to get to the windows on the 2nd and 3rd floor. I still have a small pile of cement in the backyard and have been using a wire brush to try to smooth over the back steps and outside window sills (brick) which had a lot of cement on it. Geno and Anthony I think work hard but need to take greater care with keeping things neat and clean. I'm sorry I can't give them a better recommendation because I like these guys and wish them well.

We hired Geno because although we got cheaper quotes he seemed to be down to earth and an all American honest guy. We provided a deposit and signed a contract one week before the job actually started the check was cashed immediately. I did not haggle for a cheaper price I agreed to pay exactly what he asked. Geno called to and told us the the job would not start on the contracted start date it was delayed for three days. On the day his team showed up only two people showed up "late" and worked for approximately 3 hours never the less I was disappointed with the beginning. Pouring concrete is contingent upon weather there was a couple of off days where it rained so this delayed the job even more. When it was time to pour the concrete I felt like I had to be there to ensure it was done correctly. I was told wire mesh would be placed in between the concrete and if I was not at home to ensure this occured it probably would not have happened. Gene bought two pieces of wire and told me that was enough; I am not a construction worker but I know enough to know that this was not adequate. He had to send out to purchase more wire to ensure what he stated he would do was actually done. Apart from not doing what he said he would do before the job was complete Gene was requesting more money, which was not a part of the contract. If nothing else I was dissapointed in the workmanship and the way he conducted business. I though he would be honest and hardworking which turned out to be a facade. The work was mediocre if this was my dream home I would be pissed. In general he was not neat, he kept his tools in my garage and I had to constantly clean up after he left. I would not recommed this company for two reasons, poor work ethic and Gene did not do what he said he would do. He made me feel like I had hover over his crew to ensure they were doing what they were suppose to do. Good luck with your business but you need to improve on your work ethic if you want to continue in this business. If you worked better you would have gotten a lot more work from my family and friends because I have several other projects in work.
Nice Price Concrete's reply
Hi Candis, I am sorry to hear that you didn't end up being satisfied with this job. As you will remember, I gave a price on just your driveway and steps originally. You gave Nice Price half of the money as a deposit, but then added more work on. I didn't require a deposit for the add on. We removed dirt at additional cost to us so we could pour 4 inches of concrete. Because of the add-on, the job wound up costing more than if we had done the original job described. I checked with your husband on this and he was fine with it. I also made sure all of the concrete was poured that day. We had already discussed rain delays prior to the job - if it rains I cannot do previous jobs I am working on. I refuse to abandon a job while working on it, so if it rains, delays will occur. Being trained in this area, we brought enough wire for the job. Because you requested more wire, we purchased more, which also added to cost. I am not sure why you were upset about the tools being left in your garage. We discussed this and you said I could leave tools in the garage. I definitely tried to keep it neat, and only left some shovels and brooms in it. I take pride in my work and my cleanup. After every job I have my customers sign saying that the work is finished and they are satisfied. I make sure that they have read it. If you were unsatisfied, I wish you had mentioned it at that point so we could help you more. I'm sorry for the disappointment. I try to please every customer - I would suggest for future customers not to sign the contract that they are happy and the job is done how they like. We put that on our contracts to try and prevent dissatisfaction and do all we can to complete the job correctly. -Geno from Nice Price Concrete
