I have been taking flute lessons with Dan for the past four months. My technique and improvisational skills have increased dramatically since I started with Dan, and I have seen myself grow as a musician much quicker than when I was getting lessons elsewhere. I also always feels very comfortable asking him any questions that I have (no matter how silly) and I find that he is very good at communicating complex ideas. He's also incredibly kind and patient! I would definitely recommend him to anyone for flute (and saxophone/clarinet) lessons - he's a step above other teachers in the Philly area.
Conor seems to be very calm and patient. Neha is very responsive and very good to work with in setting you up with a great teacher got your specific instrument. I look forward to the lessons and I felt very comfortable. I’m excited!
I met with Vinnie to start saxophone lessons early in 2018. He was very patient and seemed able to work with all levels (including me, a total beginner)!
Mr. Stan Davis is an excellent teacher. He has extensive knowledge of many instruments and music theory is very important to him. If you want the complete package from a teacher, from learning to ready music properly to a musical ear that will make you he bet you can be-- Stan is your man! I walked in knowing nothing about the saxophone... I could not even make a noise and know I have a fundamental understanding of music theory and can play a few songs after just a few sessions!
My two children and myself have been taking lessons from Amy for the past year and a half. She works wonderfully with young children and adults. She is very patient and we enjoy our piano lessons with her. She also does a great job with organizing 2 recitals every year.
I have been taking ukulele lessons from Sean for a year and a half. He is a talented, professional, and patient teacher. His impressive knowledge of music is inspiring - never intimidating. Sean is just a lot of fun to work with.
I have been studying music and learning to play the saxophone with Mary for a year. I have been through many music teachers in my life as I used to play the piano since i was 10 years old. Most of the music teachers I have found are only interested in teaching how to play the instrument. Mary not only teaches the finer things about your instrument of choice but brings to it her overall knowledge of music theory, holistic studies, and her love of God and is able to wrap it all together where you know without a doubt music is definitely a gift from God. The one thing that truly amazes me about Mary is she takes the time to gets to know you, your personality, what techniques enable you to learn the best, your experiences and background and is able to intertwine it with her knowledge and experience and brings about a whole new understanding that I have never experienced before with other music teachers. What touches me the most and demonstrates that Mary really is concerned about the individual coming to a wonderful understanding about music is that she prays for each of her students before a lessons and ask God to help her communicate what that particular person needs to understand that day and how through music she can glorify our Lord and Saviour. I truly am blessed to find and work with Mary. She definitely brings about a whole new world in music.
Jeff taught my daughter for about a year and a half when she was in middle school and decided to take up saxophone. She did very well under his tutelage and made 3rd chair out of 7 in the school band after only one year of lessons! Jeff is patient and thorough, and his enthusiasm for music is contagious!
There are several ways that distinguish me from other instructors: I am more versatile and multi-talented than most teachers; I am experienced in pop, jazz, classical, country, and other genres; I have performed over 1500 times in the last 20 years; I possess a music education degree; BUT - most importantly - I believe in helping you achieve YOUR goals - not mine. I do not approach teaching with a cookie-cutter approach.
