- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Jen continues to expand her knowledge and dancing skills. She has studied with Mimi of Manhattan Tribal and Carolena Nericcio-Bohlman of FatChanceBellyDance. She also enjoys taking workshops with local performers.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got into belly dance as a bet with a boyfriend back in college: if he learned to play the sitar I would learn to belly dance. Well I learned the dance... and he had little follow through with the sitar.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
This is no particular form that a dance student needs to fit. You are never too old or to young to start dancing, never to big or too small. Don't be afraid to take a chance and get out there and shake it. Lessons are inclusive to students and you'll be learning right along with other women who have their own insecurities. Its an opportunity to get to know and love yourself for who you are. Tribal belly dance is a lower impact exercise. So if you've recovered from a herniated disc or your knees are shot to go out and run. Our moves can accommodate your needs. We structure our moves to work within the bounds of how your body moves.
