First experience using thumbtack and it was fantastic. Austi, could not have made this process easier. Heput our kids trampoline together. He was in constant communication with us to ensure the project would get done within our time line. He was extremely flexible and went out of his way to ensure our project would get done quickly and would fit into our schedule. He and his assistant were prompt, courteous, friendly and got our trampoline assembled in no time at all. They made sure all of the boxes and trash were taken care of.... just a great job.! We will definitely request their services again. I highly recommend Austin!
My wife and I hired Leo recently to help us demo a kitchen and dining room to move forward with a remodel. He showed up on time to give us a bid, which was quite reasonable, then returned the next day to remove 2 large radiators, remove flooring, and move a built in cabinet. He was communicative and professional and we plan to keep using his services throughout our project.
Mike assembled a backyard play set for our kids. He confirmed the appointment, came on time and completed the work wonderfully! If you are looking for a reliable handyman willing to work at reasonable costs, we are sure Mike will meet your needs. We would recommend and hire him again if needed. He was delightful to work with.
Ed did a great job of installing an external water faucet in our backyard. He was on time, very thorough and clean. All communications with him were clear and to the point.
the handyman (my search on Thumbtack) really came in handy for installing my new kitchen floor. He was punctual and professional. He did a nice good, good value! And thank you Jason for your 20 yrs of service in the Navy!
I'm an industrial design engineer and I've been renovating property in Pittsburgh for 10+ years and I decided to hire James for two weeks to help get an 1800's house that I bought rent-able until I could revisit the house more intensly in the future. Long story short, I quickly determined that I could count on Jim and his men to show up and get down to business on a higher level. We ended up gutting the entire house, jacking up the foundation, restructuring anything that was questionable, adding and redesigning bathrooms, running all new pex water lines, new electric and new gas lines. We installed all new windows, insulation, plumbed for an additional kitchen for possible future needs. We installed new headers and opened up rooms to meet code standards, leveled floors and ceilings by adding wooden drop cieling grids and installed drywall throughout. We are currently finishing drywall and getting ready to start all the final flooring and trim work and I'm completely satisfied thus far and would not hesitate to keep them working on my property portfolio. Here are a few qualities that he and his crew display that are hard to find: --They show up on time and enjoy working regardless of the conditions. We had quite a few miserable demo days with nothing but positivity. --They don't go straight to the bar after work, they go home and spend time with their family. --They are honest. Alot of contractors will tell you they know all about everything just to find out they are faking it. If Jim didn't know something, we worked on the solution together and didn't have to backtrack, wasting time and money. --Working hrs were well kept and I didn't have to worry about my personal tools or materials coming up "lost" or missing. --They really do care about how you feel about your project and have no problem going with the flow when I constantly change my mind on design. --They are physically capable. Say you need a dumpster loaded or 100 sheets of drywall moved around the job site, it's not a problem and nobody complains. --Willingness to learn. I've done alot of improvising with OLD houses and they want to use any experience or knowledge to their advantage. All in all, it is a great experience and I'll have them back to work with me on my personal home this spring. I'll add pictures soon.
Ray was very professional and curtesy was great. He completed my bathroom from laying new flooring, painting and hanging new fixtures. My bathroom is on his site. He also wall mounted my 55in flat screen with a shelf. Great guy and economically affordable.
It's hard to pick a contractor from the list of contractors that was sent to me. I selected Paul Wehausen based on good reviews and the amount of work he did in the area which I live. What I can tell you is I'm so happy I made this choice. The job consisted of mounting two TV's with heavy duty Kanto FMX3 mounts and concealing all the wiring. Paul was on time and prepared to do the job. He ran into a few problems that could not have been foreseen but he immediately implemented solutions that kept the job moving. Everything he did on this installation was very professional and when he left after completing the job, my wife and I could not be happier with the final product. All we need to do now is sit back and watch two perfectly mounted smart TV's. Anyone looking for this or other type of electrical work, do yourself a favor and give Paul Wehausen a call. I would recommend him to one of my best friends and know that they will be very happy with his work.
Mark did an awesome job for me, so good in fact that I've hired him to do a few more! He was on time, worked very quickly and did a great job. Mark replaced broken water pipes, installed toilets, removed a wall, sanded hardwood floors and so much more. He is honest and trustworthy and charges a fair price for his work. He also cleans up when he's done working. You will not regret hiring Mark, he is very good at what he does. AND... he's a veteran! I would be happy to give him a great reference... after he does a few more things for me, that is.
Charles of C.K. Remodeling & Design installed a fence in our back yard. He was everything we expected of a good contractor; professional & customer-oriented, punctual, knowldgeable & skilled, and competitively priced. We're thankful our neighbor recommended him to us and we gladly recommend him to you. Thanks again Charles for a job well done!
Had our basement finished with hardwood floors. Unbeatable customer service, excellent communication and we love the finished results! Worked within our time frame and highly recommend Jason and his crew.
Jared does fast, quality work. Professional appearance and streamlined workflow from the bid to installation. Will use him again with out a doubt.
Adam installed crown molding and chair rail in my entire dining room, living room and 3 of my bedrooms and it looks flawless. I couldn't be happier with the work and how professional he was. He works extremely fast and it added so much to my house. I can't stop staring at it! I would highly recommend Adam's services to anyone.
I am so happy we hired Bill, they did an amazing job!! We bought a playset for our two children and was looking for someone that would install it for us. Bill was quick to send me a message and quote, letting me know that he had experience with playset installs and would have it up ASAP. They worked hard all day in the hot hot sun and the finished product is PERFECTION! We will definitely be hiring Steel City WoodworX for our next projects and recommend them for anyone else considering their services!
Excellent. Very helpful, experienced and friendly
My husband and I needed someone to drywall our kitchen ceiling (seems like an easy task but the ceiling wasn't level and plaster was missing). They came out the same week our request went in on Thumbtack for an estimate. Ended up being the best decision we made thus far in home renovation. They worked with our busy schedule, coming in the evenings some nights to finish up little things here and there. We are choosing to do the priming/painting ourselves. When we're done, they're even coming back to put up our light fixtures (We even have a new one that needs to be installed.). We were so happy with the work they did, we asked for 2 more quotes on projects around our house. We will being using them again and would DEFINITELY recommend their services.
