FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start by listening. Our clients hold the key to any projects success. We take each clients wants and needs very personally. Throughout our project we have open communication with our clients so there are no surprises and stress levels remain low for all! Once a budget is determined we stretch it and come up with a plan for their approval. If they would like us to proceed with their designs, we set up an account where we create a contract and even a payment schedule if needed. A deposit is required to hold a date which is credited towards the final invoice. The first payment goes towards our design fee and is non refundable. Once your date is reserved we will not be accepting any other events for that date. After the design fee deposit is made we will work on a payment schedule for the remainder of the project. Final payments are required no later than one month prior to event dates. This time frame is to allow for all funds to clear and be properly distributed and deposited for an event. Once the project is complete we ask for feedback so we can always provide the service we would want for ourselves!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Lauren graduated in 2008 from La Roche College with a B.S. in Graphic Design and Communications. Melissa is a 2006 Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Interior Design. We are always staying on top of our graphic, drafting and floral skills. You can never stop learning. But as far as trends go, we try not to be over influenced. Trends are traps.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Wow, how long ya got? Ok, Cliff Notes version.... We started out in Hospitality, we worked in hotels and restaurants for years. We didn't know it at the time, but we formed an appreciation for excellent customer service, which is rare these days. While working these jobs, we began collaborating on design projects. Whether refurbishing curbside furniture or oil painting on scrap wood, we knew we wanted to change the world with design. The visual arts were calling. The sky was the limit. And Interior and Graphic design degrees were in the stars. We graduated and worked in corporate jobs for about 5 years... All the while, we weren't happy in these positions. We weren't sure what we really wanted to do with these degrees other than create our own job title. A company that focused on happiness through design. After helping friends and family with events, weddings, really any design project we could get involved in, we narrowed it down. We started combining graphic and interior design to create awesome events. We got into floral design, because we always wanted to know more about it and frankly every florist that we worked with simply wasn't what we wanted. We'll never lose the customer service/people pleasing trait that was embedded so many years ago. We got into this line of work because we wanted to do what we love, help people and design.
