I have been taking voice lessons from Louise Carr at the Melody Shop in West Mifflin Pa. My singing has improved dramatically. Everybody notices how improved my singing is and it's only been a few short months. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a great vocal coach!
I have had approximately 10 voice lessons with Dan Teadt and couldn't be more pleased. I have seen significant positive changes in my voice in that short amount of time. It is truly surprising to me how much change has occurred that quickly. He has wonderful technique and is able to transmit that to students in an easy to understand fashion. Dan has a terrific work ethic, as well as a lot of patience, and will work hard for you. He does not cancel, arrive late, or keep you waiting. Recommend him enthusiastically.
My daughter, who is 11 yrs old, is very comfortable with Kelly. She is not only teaching her how to use her voice but also how to express herself through her emotions and reactions to the music and words. She brings a theatrical edge to the lesson and it makes singing that much more fun and engaging for my daughter. In only 3 lessons we can already see such a difference and new level of comfort in her singing.
I have been taking guitar lessons at N'Stuff Music for 10 years. All three of my guitar teachers have been excellent and have guided my progress in the genres of rock and classical guitar. I also took voice lessons here for about a year. The learning experience and support of the knowledgeable store staff have been outstanding. If I had to start over again, this is where I would be.
Ashley challenges my daughter while also making her lessons fun. Ashley seeks out developmentally appropriate pieces for both technical and performance-based skills. My daughter has gained confidence with and commitment to her violin in the year that she has worked with Ashley.
Excellent piano teacher for our four kids!
I find Beverley to be a caring, kind and concerned individual when it comes to lessons for my daughter. she is enthusiastic and very very connected to your style and your voice. She treats you with level of dignity and respect for the art as well as for the person . She is very much involved not just in your voice but in you which is motivational piece that helps my daughter to really excel. Beverley is on top of her game and is flexible with your schedule which is a plus plus. She really knows what she's doing in the world of voice lessons and coaching. A great people person and a mentor for students.
Two of my daughters have taken lessons at New Song Studio..One of my daughters has taken acting lessons and the other takes Voice and Piano. I cannot say enough good things about New Song Studio. Jean is a very patient and encouraging instructor. My daughters have learned a lot from her and gained confidence in the process. Highly recommend!
My 14yo daughter has benefited from Kara's instruction in just few lessons. The vocal instruction goes beyond just the obvious mechanics of producing a good sound: Kara builds rapport well and is able to recognize, name, and help remedy bad habits or fears the student might have. Her explanations aren't lengthy, but she uses visualizations that are apt, and that stick and are applicable to other vocal pieces. My daughter loves working with Kara Cornell, and us as parents do occasionally - but not always - sit in on a lesson and enjoy the music.
Holly is a great vocal teacher. I learned so much from her: how to control my breathing, how to pay attention to my own voice, how to go from my head voice to chest voice, and so much more. I was mediocre at first, but after taking lessons from her I improved drastically in a short amount of time to the point where I was matching pitch with her in a different octave. I highly recommend Holly to anyone; from a clueless beginner to an advanced professional.
Awesome voice teacher. My kids (14 & 12) love her.
Lisa was very prompt in getting back to me...Alauna is very excited about her lessons, and we look forward to working with Lisa and her company.
I took voice lessons on an impulse somehow thinking that freeing my natural voice may help me to move through other blockages in my life. It was true that I cringed every time I heard my recorded voice. I disliked speaking. Voice lessons therefore seemed like rich ground for healing. Gratefully, I was lead to Wendy. She is an intuitive and observant teacher. She believes in this work, and now I do. After a few months, I have witnessed a greater resonance in my voice. The lessons are deceptively simple. A series of relaxation and visualizations helps the student to observe sound within the body. Sounds simple but it is the students willingness to observe that is so important. I was shocked to learn how I muffled and restrained my voice in so many subtle and not so subtle ways. I am not a singer or actor so voice lessons may sound like an extravagance. I disagree. Voice lessons with Wendy have been a way for me to honor myself by getting out of my way. In terms of self-discovery, voice lessons have been a bargain.
Between the high expectations Mrs. Noullet had and the patience she showed in training me, the results were phenominal. Gail had this 'magic formula' by combining her knowledge of singing and constant encouragement (which I really needed!). Before taking voice lessons, I would have never been able to get up in front of a group of people (terrifying) and sing. I could tell that she loves teaching and that made me want to be even better for her. I made chamber chior and also had a singing part as one of the orphans in Plum Senior High's "Annie". I would recommend Mrs. Noullet to any parent wanting to give their child voice lessons. Best teacher in the area.
I honestly couldn't be happier. The individual instruction is so amazing. There are group sessions once a month that are beneficial for performers. My son is so motivated now! The teacher lets me sit in on the lessons and I'm so impressed!
Matt is very good at adapting the lesson to the learner. He is professional, personable and knowledgable. Recommended!
David is an excellent teacher. He explains everything so you can understand how your voice works and so you can eventually teach yourself. He brings a level of expertise that is unparalleled. He also brings humor which makes it fun to go. He's so patient so I never feel stupid. I've had to cancel so many times because of last minute scheduling conflicts and he has always been accommodating without seeming hassled even though I know it's a hassle when I change my schedule on him. Between violin, piano, drums, and songwriting lessons I've had MANY teachers over the years and David is superb in every way. You just can't go wrong taking from him. I can see myself growing with him for many years to come.
I have studied with well respected vocal instructors as well as well as gaining information from many other scholastic resources. Additionally, I have a psychology background which aids me in understanding the learning process so that I can tailor lessons to the student and their individual learning style.
