I've been rehabbing houses since 1991, and Bill Maitland (M&M) is the first electrician I've hired in Pennsylvania. How did I get so lucky! He did exactly what he promised, his estimate was awesome and it didn't go up in spite of a few unforeseen issues (which he absorbed instead of charging me). He's very easy to communicate with -- phone, text, e-mail, etc. -- he's punctual, keeps me posted, and he didn't complain. As a residential rehabber, my biggest pet peeve is complaining. Bill loves the work he's doing, and it shows. He installed a new electrical service and took care of all communications with the building department. I have already hired him for my next job. Take my word for it, you'll want to do the same.
Andrew was polite, professional, and flexible. I would absolutely recommend him to others and use his services again.
My wife and I hired Leo recently to help us demo a kitchen and dining room to move forward with a remodel. He showed up on time to give us a bid, which was quite reasonable, then returned the next day to remove 2 large radiators, remove flooring, and move a built in cabinet. He was communicative and professional and we plan to keep using his services throughout our project.
I'm a General Contractor in the Westmoreland County, PA area and would definitely hire J.L. Smith Electric for any electrical sub-contracting needs that I have in the future. He did exactly what he said he would, when he said he would, for what he said he would. You can't beat quality & honesty in a contractor!!!
This is what you want in a contractor. Communication, explanation, preparation and execution. True to his word at a fair price. Wanted to fix what I had rather than sell me a new system bc that's what made sense... and that's hard to find.
Matt Colvin did a fantastic job on my electrical issue. He responded immediately through Thumbtack. An appointment was set up for the next morning. He was punctual and professional. Knew what he was doing, very conscientious and cleaned everything up upon completion. He is a very pleasant person and wanted input from me to make sure I was satisfied throughout the job. I will contact him for any home repair, electrical or whatever in the furute. His pricing was fair and reasonable. Thanks.
We just bought a new house and are having quite a bit of work done do it, including electrical upgrades. Tom was hands-down the most responsive contractor with whom we have worked. He was the first to call on our Thumbtack post and kept us informed of every step of the work that was done. He also knows what he's talking about and was able to find effective solutions to meeting our electrical needs, which impressed my husband (who worked for an electrical contractor for years). Highly recommended.
Brian was excellent and extremely professional. He did a great electrical job on our house and even cleaned everything up once he was finished. I would certainly recommend Brian to any of my friends!
Charles is by far the most excellent contractor we have ever used. Bar none. He designed and implemented the construction of our new kitchen. He either DID every single aspect by himself, or oversaw anyone who came into the house. Floors to ceilings! Anytime we discussed something and my husband or I would say, "is it possible to maybe do???" He found a way! When we decided it was time for a new kitchen, we never expected to get pretty much everything we wanted, and more. But we did. Not only is Charles's workmanship extraordinary, but he himself is THE most respectful and considerate of any workers of any kind we have ever had in our home. And believe me, when no one in our household is DIY, and we've lived here 30+ years, we have had to deal with lots of workmen! Our original idea was to change old cabinets, countertops and appliances. But with the questions and suggestions of Charles we ended up with a major remodel. He understood our greatest desires in a kitchen. And so we were able to get our dream kitchen. We are so very pleased with the kitchen results, we really really want to remodel our game room with the help of Charles of Parham Design. Soon.
The only person I trust to work with my family for any home improvement! If he hadn't helped us last winter I don't think we would have made it. He can do any repairs and he will work with you. He replaced all my water lines, installed new floating flooring, changed out an old electric box for a new one, all new furnace, all new roof. He can tackle the most simple of electrical work to the most advanced house repairs, with ease and is super efficient with time!
I recently renovated a bathroom and had switched the location of the toilet and vanity. This meant I needed new electrical run for vanity lights and some switches changed to GFCI which can be tricky in an older house. Jordan was willing to come out and look at the project and provide suggestions on how to tackle this. A few days later the work started and he explained everything and answered all the questions I was asking about how and why things were being done. One issue with the electrical needed some troubleshooting but he was able to figure it out and in the end everything worked out great. Highly recommended! I'll definitely be contacting McIntyre again for future projects. Very professional.
Can't say enough. If you need electrical work done, look no further. In addition to the scheduled job, which was an attic fan, I asked them to install a bathroom exhaust fan/light. They did it in no time and for a reasonable price.
I needed a service panel install. The workmanship was incredible! I would certainly recommend them for any of your electrical needs. I guarantee your home will be treated with TLC! Bill W. Pittsburgh, PA
I'm an industrial design engineer and I've been renovating property in Pittsburgh for 10+ years and I decided to hire James for two weeks to help get an 1800's house that I bought rent-able until I could revisit the house more intensly in the future. Long story short, I quickly determined that I could count on Jim and his men to show up and get down to business on a higher level. We ended up gutting the entire house, jacking up the foundation, restructuring anything that was questionable, adding and redesigning bathrooms, running all new pex water lines, new electric and new gas lines. We installed all new windows, insulation, plumbed for an additional kitchen for possible future needs. We installed new headers and opened up rooms to meet code standards, leveled floors and ceilings by adding wooden drop cieling grids and installed drywall throughout. We are currently finishing drywall and getting ready to start all the final flooring and trim work and I'm completely satisfied thus far and would not hesitate to keep them working on my property portfolio. Here are a few qualities that he and his crew display that are hard to find: --They show up on time and enjoy working regardless of the conditions. We had quite a few miserable demo days with nothing but positivity. --They don't go straight to the bar after work, they go home and spend time with their family. --They are honest. Alot of contractors will tell you they know all about everything just to find out they are faking it. If Jim didn't know something, we worked on the solution together and didn't have to backtrack, wasting time and money. --Working hrs were well kept and I didn't have to worry about my personal tools or materials coming up "lost" or missing. --They really do care about how you feel about your project and have no problem going with the flow when I constantly change my mind on design. --They are physically capable. Say you need a dumpster loaded or 100 sheets of drywall moved around the job site, it's not a problem and nobody complains. --Willingness to learn. I've done alot of improvising with OLD houses and they want to use any experience or knowledge to their advantage. All in all, it is a great experience and I'll have them back to work with me on my personal home this spring. I'll add pictures soon.
Found the quality of service excellent and the cost very reasonable
Great service with an excellent price. I've looked at a few other big name electrical companys prices. John's pricing was just right. As he was performing the work he also gave me recommendations of what to upgrade to keep my home safe.
Contracted to wire garage door opener from panel box to new outlet. Superior work quality and trustworthy. Arrived on time to do the work and very professional. Will contact again for any electrical needs
Our electrical repair service was prompt and well executed. Bill immediately responded to the thumbtack request and was out to our house immediately after the holidays to performed the work. He and his assistant were knowledgeable about electrical work and friendly to work with.
Demeco was AWESOME! Very professional. I have had some other electricians out and the experience has been..... not so good. Demeco was so friendly, professional and actually cared about helping. I highly recommend Dex electric to anyone that needs work done.
Rick was great. He and his guy came in and did our electrical rough in in 3 days! Would use him again without a second thought.
