Introduction: I stand out as a voice teacher because I am a sensitive and versatile performer. I use my experience as a stage and concert singer to give real-world advice and training to students of all ages and skill levels. As a classically trained singer, I was once told I could ONLY sing classical music. However, after years of soul searching I was able to break free from that false truth and perform professionally in the musical theater, jazz and pop worlds as well. I enjoy teaching voice lessons because I love helping singers find their unique vocal and musical path. There are hundreds of ways to enjoy music in life! My job, as a teacher and mentor, is to empower my students so they can reach their highest potential in whatever musical form they are passionate about. I help my students understand what is going on technically when they sing. I also help them to break cycles of negative thinking, which often hold us back as artists. My studio is located in O'Hara Township, near Aspinwall/Fox Chapel and convenient to the Highland Park Bridge. If interested, please contact me via my website. www DOT KaraCornell DOT com

She is the best!! She sees the student and works with them. She strives to bring the best out of her students with building confidence and giving them strength and support. I highly recommend if you are looking for lessons this is the place to be

My 14yo daughter has benefited from Kara's instruction in just few lessons. The vocal instruction goes beyond just the obvious mechanics of producing a good sound: Kara builds rapport well and is able to recognize, name, and help remedy bad habits or fears the student might have. Her explanations aren't lengthy, but she uses visualizations that are apt, and that stick and are applicable to other vocal pieces. My daughter loves working with Kara Cornell, and us as parents do occasionally - but not always - sit in on a lesson and enjoy the music.
