Frank Maxwell was very professional, listened to my needs, assessed the job and worked within my budget. The work to my slate roof was started almost immediately and took less than a day and a half. It is wonderful to have a person do what they say they will do in the time frame they state for the cost that was agreed upon. I have already rehired him to do one of my other roofs that is in need. I plan on recommending him to all my business clients and friends!

I have to say I have a slate roof and I have had numerous roofers over the years work on my roof. Jacob was very professional and friendly. He arrived at my house when he said he would to give me a quote but also had his tools and ladders with him and was ready to do the work for me if I would accept his bid. After speaking with him I could tell that he really understands slate roofing and felt very comfortable to let him fix my roof right there and then! His pricing was very fair and I felt that I could totally trust him. Job got done that day. He suggested some other work that will need to be done and I am going to have him come and do it. I have to say I have finally found a roofer who knows what they are doing with slate and could not be any happier. Thank you Jacob!

My wife and I hired Leo recently to help us demo a kitchen and dining room to move forward with a remodel. He showed up on time to give us a bid, which was quite reasonable, then returned the next day to remove 2 large radiators, remove flooring, and move a built in cabinet. He was communicative and professional and we plan to keep using his services throughout our project.

Me and my wife could not be happier with the outcome of our remodeling project. We purchased another house in the Lawrenceville area and the house was a complete disaster from the roof to the basement foundation walls so we had alot of concern in regards to getting the right contractor too restore our house. We went through all bids with the different contractors but none of them really seemed to know what direction they were going to take in bringing our ideas to life but not accurate pro they really put in the time and effort with designing everything we wanted from our kitchen to our bathrooms and the end result was fantastic and we are now under contract with accurate to remodel our other house in shadyside. Accurate is truly a full service construction and remodeling company and there guys are expert craftsmen they did everything at our house new roof , new plumbing , new breaker panel , new windows , repaired our crumbling basement walls and waterproofed the whole basement , installed a new french drain , new kitchen as well as 2 new bathrooms. If your looking for remodeling company look no further this company is by far the very best contractors we have ever hired to do work for us Thank you Accurate pro for your hard work and dedication in making our project come out just the way we wanted it too.

In the last wind storm, a piece of fascia trim blew partially off my roof line and needed to be reattached. Steve was quick to provide a quote and was at the house in less than 24 hours to make the repair. While he was on the ladder reinstalling the piece of trim, he also secured the remaining trim to ensure it wouldn't blow off during the next storm. I recommend Steve and will definitely use him again should I need help with another roofing project!

Pros: Excellent professionalism, Very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions, Delivered service as expected and guaranteed. Cons: Customer hand-off from Salesman to Work Site Leader missing. Communication On October 28th, I had my entire roof replaced by Zuta Pro Roofers. It started off a little rocky because I knew the day they were coming and not the time. I called the salesman Paul and he informed me that they were working on the roof. I was able to make some adjustments at work and drop in while they were installing my roof. I was pleasantly surprised at how efficient and quick they were on installing my roof. Based on my conversation with Paul, they started around 11AM and I got there around 4PM. When I got there 80% of the roof was done. Their salesman Paul mentioned the job would be done in 6 hours when I received the quote, but I must admit, I was a little skeptical. It was awesome to see that he was actually right! After the work crew left, I talked to the Work Site Leader, Lucas, about concerns I didn't communicate prior to the installation and questions around the roof installation process. Lucas was extremely accomodating. He came over the next morning to answer my questions and address my concerns (explain the difference between the metal gutter shields I expected and the mesh ones I received as well as removing a previously installed antenna). I must say this is the best experience I have had with a contractor since I have been a home owner (10 months now). Zuta Pro Roofing has set a new bar for what to expect when contracting house work. Overall, if I had to do this again, I would hire them in a heartbeat. Their excellent professionalism, customer service, and great workmanship overshadow the communication hiccup we had.

Working with John was an absolute pleasure. He's friendly and very open to hearing what I really wanted. He worked with me hand in hand with everything from the purchasing to the installation. He was very professional and always available to answer questions even when he wasn't on site. I've been trying to remodel my kitchen and bath for years and just never got around to it. I finally found someone with an amazing talent that didn't cost me a fortune. I would recommend him to all my friends. I couldn't be happier with the end result. Thanks again John. You were great!!

We hired Tri-Capital to complete multiple projects for us on our new home. They replaced the roof on deck, replaced the fascia on house, installed a drop ceiling in basement, and also converted a storage room into a half bath within the basement. I was extremely impressed with the quality of work, communication, and timeliness that Tri-Capital showed. They completed all work ahead of schedule and stayed within budget. I would highly recommend them for any work that you may need done on your home. Thanks again to the Tri-Capital Crew. Go Cowboys!!

He knew what needed to be done to complete the job the way it should be done. Old trailor roof had elastomeric on which cracked and blistered. Dave power washed surface, removed loose elastomeric, patched places that were removed, applied new sealant. Applying second coat today. Would recommend Dave to anyone

We are so pleased that we found Weber Roofing. This contractor is very honest, priced competitively, and provides high quality services and products. We have a large house and an addition had substantial substructure issues, i.e. bowing, moisture in the plywood. Instead of simply re-shingling over the bad plywood (as some roofers may do), they would not put new shingles on unless the bad plywood was replaced. They take pride in their workmanship and stand behind their work. We feel very fortunate to have Weber Roofing replace all our shingles and install new soffit, fascia, and gutters. Thanks Frank, Josh and the Weber Roofing crew!

Roof replacement. Company worked with me, when unable to keep the original and second scheduled work date. When finally able to commit to a work day Joe, notified me the week before of arrival of dumpster and workers. The roof was completed in less time than anticipated by an excellent work crew, yard and my drive way saw no materials or nails left any place. The clean up was fantastic, crew polite and courteous and the owner of Blatnik checks the work with you, if you have a question(s) or questioning something about the project you receive an honest answer and explanation. Definitely would utilize again. Carol

I have had a few small jobs done. A door insta?led, two slates on my roof replaced, and a toilet installed. All were done quickly, and very well. I have seen some of their other work and it is evident that quality of work is very important.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

  • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
    • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
  • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
  • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
  • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
  • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.
