Legal Intern, Bureau of Consumer Protection
I conducted legal research and analysis for purposes of drafting documents such as briefs, legal memoranda, interrogatories, and subpoenas. I interviewed and worked with witnesses regarding breach of warranty and contract cases. I participated in witness depositions for discovery purposes and evidence collection.
I conducted document reviews, prepared complaints, counterclaims, and motions. I assisted in settlement conferences and negotiations with respondents who violated the Pennsylvania Consumer Protection Law. I created exhibits, researched relevant legal theories and organized witnesses as integral participants in a consumer fraud trial.
Economic Development Company of Lancaster County, Lancaster, PA

I conducted specific research for the executive director and three staffers regarding existing Lancaster City economic projects. I aided staff members in efforts to acquire loans for, and provide assistance to, Lancaster City small business owners.
I participated in state-wide initiative, funded through a grant from Team Pennsylvania Foundation which involved interviewing, gathering, and organizing information from a wide spectrum of Pennsylvania businesses. The project required close contact with other participating organizations in order to facilitate the efficient collection of information, which would be utilized for law-making purposes.

I counseled and organized activities for disadvantaged children, ages 4 to 14, in the YMCA after-school program as component of undergraduate business leadership minor. I communicated with a culturally diverse group of people. I promoted learning, social awareness, and leadership.

Legislative Intern, for State Senator Noah W. Wenger, Majority Caucus Chair
I drafted letters and responded to individual constituents' concerns for review by Senator Wenger. I worked closely with a small, select staff on researching legal and legislative issues for the senator's use in the formation of opinions. I represented the senator's office at press conferences, various legislative meetings, and while the Senate was in session.
I compiled and organized notes taken from such meetings and distributed them throughout the senatorial office. I was involved with the Secret Service's securing of venue and personnel in preparation for then Vice President Cheney's arrival.
