We have recently hired Dr. Fikar and Harvard Review as SAT/ACT tutors for my son. Thus far they have been prompt and very professional. Dr. Fikar is a great motivator and seems to have invaluable knowledge of the test and how to get great results. We are at the start of our training but we already feel that we have made a great choice. He is fast to reply and easy to work with. And most importantly, my son if fired up to do well.
John is an outstanding tutor. He quickly estabilished a good rapor with our children and understands how to maximize benefit from sessions. His scheduling was flexible enough to bend around work, school and sports schedules. We have recommended him and highly recommend him to others!
We used Warp Drive Tutors with all three of my kids, at various times and for various subjects. Long story short, they are absolutely terrific. They are patient and friendly, understand the material thoroughly, and became true friends and allies for my kids. My kids are all smart kids, though they all have slight learning disabilities (slow processing speeds and mild executive dysfunction), with tutoring used to expand and secure the depth of the knowledge they obtained in class. My twins Mark and Mindy, now almost 23, used them WDT the most. They both attended a very rigorous private high school in NYC and they both were very grateful for the help they received with their sciences classes and math classes, as well as the SAT science subject tests. They did very well, As in their classes and near perfect SAT scores. The tutors from Warp Drive Tutors gave them the gift of the opportunity to be genuinely themselves and deal with all their confusions, doubts, and questions, especially dumb questions, in a truly safe place, where they would not be judged or graded, and could take all the time they needed to learn the material thoroughly.
I sent my son to Dr. Fikar as a senior. He was diagnosed with multiple disabilities as a child, and I didn't think that there was any hope for him to go to college. Dr. Fikar worked with him several hours each week for two months, and, while it took several weeks before I began to see the improvement, once it started it continued up until his SAT. He went from a 1250 to a 1560! I couldn't believe the results he was able to achieve. We have worked with many tutors prior to going with Dr. Fikar, and all of them were nice and seemingly capable, but none of them were able to move his score by more than 20 points. I never realized that my son had the potential to get an above average SAT Score, given his disabilities. If you have the money to spend, and you want the best for your child, Dr. Fikar is definitely the way to go! We also plan on using his services for our other son who is not LD, and wants to attend Univ. of Chicago one day!
John Stroll is a great tutor and an excellent teacher. He has helped me in financial accounting and has been wonderful in making sure that I fully understand what I'm learning. He always makes himself readily available whenever I need help. He really dedicates himself to taking the time to teach. I am very lucky to have found him and I absolutely would recommend him to anybody who needs tutoring in finance or accounting services (he also does economics!)--he really knows his stuff. His credentials are impeccable, and that is made very clear in his teaching. John is kind and friendly and somehow makes numbers and accounting more fun and less tedious. His teaching style is so much more understandable than most college professors. I would recommend him without reservation.
Peter helped me to edit my Masters Thesis in time for submission. He was very knowledgeable of apa formatting and offered insights and advice that was helpful in the editing process. His pricing is fair and he was quick with feedback and honored deadlines. He was very professional and great to work with.I appreciate his help and would highly recommend him. IfI go foe my PHD I will be contacting him.
Working with Jeff was an incredible experience for two reasons. First, we'd worked with another tutor prior to Jeff, and the difference was plain as day. Jeff was prepared, kept track of test scores and was able to show week by week the progress being made. Aside from that, he didn't only do problems in the SAT book, but he made a list of everything my daughter needed to work on, and they worked on different worksheets together so that she could brush up on those skills. My daughter absolutely loved working with Jeff, and was ecstatic when she saw that her score had raised from an 1860 to a 2150 after working with him. Thank you so much Jeff and best of luck and success!
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Katie. I graduated from Crown College, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with a major in Music and a minor in History. I graduated in the top ten of my class, earning the title Summa Cum Laude and a GPA of 3.95. My GRE scores showed that I surpass 95% of college graduates in Verbal Reasoning and 93% in Analytical Writing. I have a strong educational background, beginning from my late high school years. As a Junior in high school, I was asked to teach a children's theory class as an intern. I began giving private violin lessons at this same time. Through Crown College, I worked for 1.5 years as an Academic Advisor for online college and high school courses. I served 3 years as orchestra librarian, familiarizing myself with orchestration, transposition, transcription, etc. I traveled throughout Great Britain during my second sophomore semester, working with children, teens, and adults, teaching English, and performing mission work. I also served as a volunteer at a local Boys & Girls Club during my Junior and Senior years in college. During the summer of 2013, I served as a Camp Counselor at the Bill Rice Ranch. I worked for 5 years with Accelerated Christian Education, a curriculum company, through which I have gained a thorough understanding of scope and sequence, and can confidently diagnose academic struggles. Currently, I am working as a teacher at a local school.
I offer medical transcription, writing letters, proofreading, copy editing, resumes, research, and tutoring. I have 28 years of experience in the medical field specializing in oncology and Alzheimer's. I was also an instructor for vocational/tech schools. I taught certified medical assistant and certified nursing assistant programs on the clinical level. I taught and tutored students in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, medical law and ethics. I love research and tutoring. It is extremely satisfying when a student finally figures out what you are talking about. You see this great big smile and even hugs for helping them to understand. I was and am always available to the student who needed extra help. I never give up a student. I will stay with them to the bitter end, if it means they will graduate. This is why all my students in both areas of instruction had a 100% graduation rate.
One-on-one tutoring in all subjects, K-12 and SAT and ACT Prep. We meet our students in their home or local library. All of our tutors are certified teachers, college professors or professionals in their subject area. Our staff of over 60 tutors has been serving Northeast PA students since 2007, and we have tutored over 2,500 students!
I've been doing this for almost 10 years. I am a published writer of two novels and would love to help you with your writing/editing needs.
