FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I mainly do wedding films... but I also do "love story" shoots which are basically an interview style film with the bride and groom. I ask them questions like "Where did you first meet?" "Where was your first date?" "How did he propose?" Then I mix the answers together with shots of the couple doing an activity they like to do, whether it's walking their dog in the park, grabbing a cup of coffee at the local hangout, washing their car together, or just driving around down with the windows down. Wedding films, however, are my specialty. I love capturing the feeling of that day and being able to recreate it in editing. :)
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would try to learn as much as you can about your company you hire. Are they a bunch of "side-trained" shooters? What equipment do they use? Are they simply there to "record" your event or do they want to tell a story? Do they film on HD cameras, but then only offer DVD's which are standard definition? Way too many times I see lousy, old-school companies who charge too much and offer an awful product because it's what they've been doing for years! They haven't evolved with the rest of the industry. And people still hire them because they're expensive and they associate that with being good. Don't :) For around the same price as the average wedding dress these days, you can have your entire day to relive- forever.
