What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In order to keep my massage therapy license I must complete so much continuing education every two years, which I think is great! So far I've been certified as a Medical Massage Practitioner. It was 6 days of classes in which I learned very specific techniques to alleviate pain for specific ailments. I'm also certified in hot/cold stone therapy which is extremely therapeutic in a physical and emotional way. I've completed my Reiki training which focuses on meditation, energy clearing, and healing on a holistic level.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $65 an hour for my standard holistic massage, though, I also offer 30 and 90 minute massages. See my website for pricing on specialty services and limited time offers. I also send out coupons for birthdays and referrals!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always loved biology and anatomy/physiology. I've always had a love for people. Massage therapy lets me combine the two! I get to learn more and more interesting things about the body everyday and I get to spend quality time with people.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I'd advise to find a therapist you're comfortable with and that caters to what you need. Every therapist is different so if you don't find what you need right away, that's okay. Keep an open mind and when you find the right one, you're body and mind will thank you for it!
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish that more people knew how beneficial massage is. It's beneficial on many levels whether it's physical, mental, or emotional. Everybody could use one!
