Stevie is an excellent teacher! My son and I both take weekly lessons from him. I take piano and my son is learning bass. In just under a month we were both able to play several songs. Stevie's lessons are easy and fun. I highly recommend him to anyone wanting to learn how to play and instrument.

My 5 1/2 yo daughter cried and hid behind my back at her first lesson 2 months ago. Now she is loving the guitar and her lessons. Dan was so patient and creative in trying to get her to break out of her shell. He is wonderful. Robyn- Wynnewood, PA 4/2014

Hello, I am a Berklee College of Music graduate (1999) who teaches lessons on bass, guitar and keyboard (as well as Chapman Stick/Touch-Guitar). I primarily focus on theory, technique, and jamming in fun and creative ways. I've taught lessons to students of all ages, levels and abilities. Over my 20 years of playing career, I have taught and performed rock, jazz, fusion, funk, blues, reggae, prog-rock, pop, Celtic, bluegrass, classical, and more. I have toured nationally with the popular jam band, Uncle Sammy, as well as eclectic VT banjo/pedal steel guitar wizard, Gordon Stone. I currently play solo shows on the Touch-Guitar. I played bass with guitar legend, Gary Backstrom (formerly of the band, Jiggle the Handle) and performed with Gary in his Todd Rundgren tribute band called Road to Utopia. I tailor my lessons around my student’s personal goals by applying music theory and practicing techniques in creative and fun ways. Many music students (including myself) have spent too much time focusing on the negatives of learning the craft of their instrument. The music student’s mantra sometimes seems to be, “I suck; I’ll never learn all of this; he/she is better than me; I’ll never do this and too old to begin the training, etc.” My goal as a teacher is to encourage my students to chill out, have fun, focus on what it is that they want to achieve on their instrument and find a practice plan in which to make music fun, creative and interesting enough that you keep playing and improving. Regardless if you are a beginner, intermediate or professional, if you are looking for a fresh approach and want to try some new ideas, then I can help you out. I can also help with writing music, putting lyrics to music, band coaching, etc. Give me a call or email to discuss rates and availability. Thanks, Brian O'Connell (six one seven - nine four seven - eight nine eight three)

Do you want piano, bass, or guitar lessons? Call me! I've been playing all of them for a long time, and would love to teach you everything I can! Since I moved here in 2001, I have played with many artists in the area in various styles and settings. For the past six years, I've also toured both nationally and internationally with singer/songwriter Amos Lee as his bassist, and currently keyboardist/musical director. I have a bachelor's in piano performance from the University of the Arts, and have taught privately through the Meridee Winters School of Music, as well as on my own. I believe in teaching based specifically to your individual goals and aspirations, so the options are limitless: - learning songs by ear (all genres welcome) - technique, fundamentals - how to play in bands and ensembles - improvisation - reading, writing charts, notation - recording and production We can play, work, study, create, listen, and balance all of those activities to suit you and your growth as a musician. I have a studio space in my house in west Philly (however, it is also possible for me to come to you) with all kinds of instruments (guitar, keyboard, upright bass, electric bass, banjo, accordion, etc.) as well as recording gear. Beginners are welcome! Let me know if you are interested!

We learn how to play rock, jazz, funk, reggae, and samba. Any style you dig, we'll drum. We do competitive rates, and I'll do house calls! Whether you're a beginner, a seasoned basement pro, or just a drummer with a need to learn more about the instrument, I offer flexible, fun, and affordable private lessons. I'm a senior lecturer at the University of the Arts, served as Music Director of the School of Rock in Cherry Hill, a member of the Summer Music faculty at Penn State, and a freelance private instructor. I believe in teaching music as a holistic enterprise - taking information from as many sources (musical or otherwise) to inform your playing. A drummer is a master of time as it pertains to rhythm, but should also have a firm knowledge of harmony and melody in order to correctly color and shade the music. A band is only as strong as its songwriting, and a song is only as good as its bridge; the deeper your understanding, the better the music. Because of this, my instruction does not stop at the drum set. I work with students on guitar, bass, saxophone and keyboards in order to get the whole picture, and start really knowing music. I offer drum lessons to students of all ages. Drop me a line and let's get started! Visit my website for more information.

I am a Philadelphia based musician who plays guitar and cello full-time. I am also proficient in piano, drums, bass and brass. I have played in over 10 states as well as internationally. I studied music for five years at the Pennsylvania State University and have been playing music as a career for six. I absolutely love spreading my passion and joy of music to others and strive to push every student to his/her fullest potential. I get the highest amount of enjoyment out of playing music live as a living, but if there is one thing that makes me even happier than that, it is being able to open up the doors for a student to share in that same experience. Whether it be rock, classical, hip-hop, or whatever style of music you love, I want every student to be able to express himself/herself through this wonderful art.
