What is the best waterproof flooring for a basement?

There are several great options for waterproof basement flooring. For example, epoxy floors are waterproof but are thicker and sturdier than paint. Make sure the concrete substrate has been prepared for application. 

Tile is a designer’s dream, giving you a moisture-resistant surface that’s infinitely customizable. Rubber sheets or tiles are also good waterproof options, particularly for playrooms, workout areas or laundry rooms. 

Vinyl tiles and planks imitate wood or other materials very convincingly, provide moisture resistance and last a long time. And sheet vinyl is affordable and a great waterproofing solution for those in need of quick fixes.

I had a great experience working with Mark and his team. I hired him to finish my basement. He was very responsive and willing to work with me to meet my needs. I definitely wasn’t a normal client because I wanted to do various parts of the project myself. Mark had no problem accommodating this request and went over and beyond to communicate with me and make sure everyone was on the same page. He never complained about me changing my mind and was always willing to make changes to the plan and the schedule as we moved along. He even helped me out a couple of times with parts of the jobs I was doing myself. Mark was easy to work with and helpful as we collaborated to solve a few problems with the space along the way. The entire M.A.S team was professional and did quality work. On the rare occasion a small detail was a tiny bit off, it was immediately fixed to my liking without hesitation. I would most certainly recommend Mark and his team.

Started out great...ended terribly! First and foremost Mark needs to find a better, more professional, and more dependable crew. What do I say when you have a crew member that only works when it's not raining because he drives a motorcycle? The quality of work was fantastic in the beginning, which was when I was given a 4-5 week estimate. I completely understand that means 5-6 weeks in layman's terms. As the weeks went by, the quality of work got worse! The sheetrock guy OBVIOUSLY took on a much bigger project than he could handle, sheetrocking my basement by himself. UNHEARD OF! By the end of his job (which I don't even think he was all the way finished) he would show up sporadically to do bits and pieces while giving me excuses as to why he couldn't stay long. (My neighbor needs my help with a water heater and she lives alone)...just one of many. The same guy decides to sheetrock the whole ceiling without marking the ducts, leaving me with a hefty bill trying to locate 3 ducts that are unaccounted for. Imagine the nightmare. The bathroom took FOREVER, for what reason I don't know, but I do know part of it was Mark forgetting to run the water line to the toilet before sheetrocking the whole thing! So of course, that was extra work, as I was paying weekly "progress" payments. You will see a pic of the toilet and how FREAKING close it is to the shower! Anybody with common sense would know the toilet shouldn't be that close. If you're left handed you are screwed. I care not to even mention the vanity mirror...COMMON SENSE PEOPLE! This 4-5 week job ended up being 11 weeks before Mark refused to take accountability for the ducts missing, and I fired him and his crew. So now I'm left with a basement that is not finished, another costly expense to find the ductwork and re-do the ceiling, and Touch up MANY imperfections left by his crew. The complete mess that was made of our BRAND NEW FLOORS and EVERYTHING in our storage room was horrendous! Sheetrock dust EVERYWHERE! EVERYTHING we own downstairs is covered! I didn't see one piece of plastic layed over anything the whole time. We have to dispose of a lot of our property because of it. CARELESS. The ONLY reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because the work they started out doing was good and he was a nice guy. But being nice and feeding me bull $#!+ for more than double the time you said, and charging MORE than the estimate just to NOT complete the job, doesn't get you more than that. This dream of having my man cave has turned into a nightmare!
