We needed someone to care for our 4 month old kitten while we were away and I am so grateful we hired WagAMore Services. We needed someone to come over to our house to play with Skipper, feed him, and change his litter. They were so good about sending us daily photos of Skipper while we were in Europe so it gave us reassurance that he was doing ok. They even collected our mail and did other small favors we asked while we were away. We would hire WagAMore again as we never had to worry about Skipper while we were away. Super professional, reliable and caring service for your pets. Highly recommend!

Joan is the best dog sitter I have ever had. I have had her sit many many times and now she is the only dog sitter I will use. You will NEVER have to worry about your pets being well taken care of. She takes care of them like they are her children.

Audreys is excellent! Extremely knowledgeable and professional. I have 3 dogs and Audreys came out prior to job and met with dogs and us. She went over and above with both our dogs and home. We have already used her services twice and have booked several more. Audrey is our go to pet sitter...she has become family. We are extremely selective when it comes to our babies and before Audrey only two people (family) have stayed with them. Audrey has been an angel. 100% Recommend!

Katie dogsits for me when I go away on business trips or go into Boston for the weekend, and I could not recommend her more highly! She is caring and attentive to my dog; my dog gets so excited to see her. My dog is medium to high energy and Katie always tires her out. She is extremely knowledgable about dogs and dog behavior and has given me several tools to help keep my dog more mentally engaged and less stressed. Katie is punctual, she remembers all sorts of details about every dog, and she is my go-to whenever I need someone. Best dog sitter/walker in the Providence area!

Fantastic!!!! Not only was she reliable, but sent me a text (usually with picture) each day of how my cat was doing. I've had lots of great cat sitters, and I'm used to getting a "report card" when I got home - this was the first time I got "real-time" reports - loved it! Narradogsitt will be my regular, go-to cat-sitter here in RI!!

Brenda did great for her first time. She spent extra time with my cat Jessie. My house was very clean...no signs of kitty litter on floors or smells through the house. We plan on having her again in the near future. We were very pleased that she would do the holidays.

    About

I've interacted and dealt with every breed of dog that you could think of. I have two dogs myself at home and know all about taking care of these animals. My dog is Canine Good Citizen and Emotional Service Animal certified and has been through both intermediate and advanced levels of training. I trained him myself during the classes, which gave me a lot of experience with working with dogs. I'm looking for clients that need their dog(s) walked/cared for when they are not home.

    About

I have been a Realtor in the Plymouth, Massachusetts area for 25 years. I have been in the house/pet sitting business for the past eight years or so. I have great respect for homes and pets and love what I do! I find that people would much rather keep their pets in their own homes rather than kennels when they travel, and that's where I come in. I can supply excellent references.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

    • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
    • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
      • 45-minute visit: $28.
      • 60-minute visit: $32.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
      • 12 hours: $100.
      • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
