These guys were great! We moved from one studio to another (only 1.5 miles apart), and I'm so glad we had their help. We moved into a tightly packed neighborhood AND the most accessible way to get everything into the new place was through the walkout basement/patio...that had a spiral staircase. Needless to say, I was very nervous as to how we would get things like our HUGE entertainment stand, bed, heavy table, large TV, etc down into the new apt, but they did it! They meticulously hoisted everything over the 6 foot edge and gently lowered it to the "catcher" on the patio. Everything was very well taken care of and it was very stress free!! Also, Chuck and his movers were so pleasant to work with! Although Chuck was not able to be there for the actual move, he called me multiple times before and after the move, to ensure all of our bases were covered and that we were happy with how the move went. The movers were also very friendly, talkative, and upbeat, which makes a sucky task (i.e. moving) a lot more enjoyable. It is clear these guys take pride in their work and business and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone moving in the Boston area! $340 well spent! Thank you, Move Master.

John and John were very professional and courteous. They have disassembled and moved our 9 foot Brunswick Pool Table and re-assembled, adjusted and re-aligned it perfectly in our new house. So we are ready to play pool again! They were fast and the price was reasonable. Thank you John and John! Very satisfied customer

We needed to move our pool table due to a pipe that flooded our basement. D&L did an exceptional job, wish I could give them 10 stars. Professional, reliable just a pleasure to deal with during such a stressful time. Our table is now back in place with a new felt and we are ready for the upcoming holidays. Thank you so much!!!

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to restore a pool table?

Keeping your pool table in prime condition both protects your investment and makes it more fun to play. If your billiards table has been damaged by age or player misuse, experienced pool table repair pros are ready to help. The average national cost to hire a pool table specialist is $330-$400, but pricing can vary depending on how much restoration work needs to be done and the type and cost of materials you need. Depending on the type of pool table you want, the cost to buy one new can range from $1,000 to $5,000 and up, so investing in upkeep every few years makes good financial sense. Common pool table repairs include refelting the table, replacing cushions and cushion rubber that is has deteriorated or been damaged, installing new pockets or replacing damaged pockets, and fixing chips or smoothing uneven slate. You can also have wood pool tables refinished to restore them to their former luster, which may start around $600 and go up, depending on size, wood type and necessary repairs. Pool table repair pros can level an uneven table, repair broken leg mounts and address other foundational issues. Pool table repair pros can also fix coin-operated parts for commercial tables.

How much does it cost to replace pool table felt?

Owning a pool table, whether for pleasure or business, means investing in upkeep. Keeping the felt in good condition is important to ensure not only appearance but a smooth game. The national average cost to hire a pool table repair professional ranges from $330 to $400. A quality pool table is a major investment, so you want to hire a pro who is experienced and comes with glowing references. Refelting a pool table is a specialized skill calling for technical tools, competence with slate smoothing and repair, and the ability to provide a precision application of the felt that won’t hinder play.

When well cared for, pool table felt can last up to a decade; pros recommend replacing your pool table felt every three years or so, more often if you play heavily. Refelting and pool table repairs can cost more for antique and custom pool tables. Commercial pool table owners are wise to have multiple pool tables repaired at one time, as they can often get discounts for volume work.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
