Cathy helped me take my dog from antisocial to social and playful!
Unbelievable. I have a 12 week old Australian Cattle mix and almost no experience in training dogs. Peter is extremely professional, kind, and experienced. He came right on time to my house at 5:30AM and brought treats for my puppy and even gave me a clicker. I noticed a clear difference in my puppy and Peter helped me to understand more about animal behavior. I look forward to our next session this coming week! He is outstanding!
John has been a savior. he has helped me modify both my behavior, and my dog's behavior. My two Chihuahua's are such timid dogs compared to their first session two weeks ago. I also enjoy John's use of sensory integration for the dogs, and also teaching the owner how to modify their behavior. He's an awesome trainer who made it very aware that if I ever had questions, to contact him.
My puppy Benny and I had a great experience with Sandy. She taught me many skills to use with Benny that shaped his positive behavior as a puppy. She was always available for advice via text and phone (about training and advice about raising a puppy). She is very professional and also very friendly. Her love for dogs shows in the work she does! I would highly recommend Sandy.
Love, love, love Courtney and Al. They have helped us out by giving us great training techniques that are possitive and extremely useful to our situation. They understand animal behavior and how to correct and redirect your pet. You can see how they interact with our pets that they are very caring and compassionate about what they do. Our dogs love the time they spend with them!!
Michael is fantastic! Very laid back and understanding of my dogs behaviors. By the end of the first session, I felt very hopeful and much more relaxed. Looking forward to next weeks sessions!
Jinks is trained!!! Her recall, heel, sit, down and place commands are solid! My 4 year old nephew can handle her on the leash, with no pulling! Exactly what I hired ACTK9 to do. John and Lindsay are very talented trainers. I think they were probably over qualified to train a very domesticated rescue pup, but were professional and experienced enough to be able to adjust training methods and intensity to work with our girl. She was timid and a bit nervous at first, but she came out of her shell and is ready to be enrolled in her first agility class. I would highly recommend John to train your dogs, especially if you are looking for highly obedient animals.
My new dog (Rina) that I adopted a month ago from a shelter is very nervous and afraid of any type of noise and barks at people walking by the house, and at us when we try to leave the house. I have not even left her home alone yet. I realized how bad this was within the first few days and realized that I was going to have to find help for her (and me). I found Lee's name and read about her credentials and her experience working with dogs with the same problems as Rina and contacted her right away. I also saw that Lee believes in only positive reinforcement training ONLY which is very important to me. Lee responded quickly and began to send me information I could start reading re. Rina's behavior in advance of the Consultation we had planned. When Lee arrived for the consult, Rina did not make it easy for her at all to even step into the house - - barking at the "stranger" and carrying on for awhile! She was VERY upset! Eventually, with Lee's skills and understanding of the situation, she slowly made her way into the house, and after a few minutes, was sitting at our dining room table, and Rina was looking for more treats - - and then even laying at her feet! This was not an easy task, believe me. Lee told me that she specialized in these types of nervous, phobic dogs and she sure proved it to me yesterday! She took her time with Rina and really knew how to handle the situation. I was very impressed with that, and I learned a lot during the consult regarding Rina's distress and how we can help her. I plan to continue into a training program soon with Lee when she feels Rina is ready.
Bea has excellent knowledge and a great philosophy on positive reinforcement training. I first attended a puppy kindergarten class over 10 years ago with my puppy German Shepherd. I now am enjoying and continuing to learn about dog behavior and communication with my Shiloh Shepherd by private lessons and socialization classes. It has helped reinforce the bond between my dog and myself and honors my dog's intelligence and needs to learn. Bea is fantastic at her art as a dog behaviorist.
Fantastic experience!! I noticed a difference in my dogs behavior almost immediately. Very flexible and easy to work with. Thank you Jess for being so wonderful.
Katie dogsits for me when I go away on business trips or go into Boston for the weekend, and I could not recommend her more highly! She is caring and attentive to my dog; my dog gets so excited to see her. My dog is medium to high energy and Katie always tires her out. She is extremely knowledgable about dogs and dog behavior and has given me several tools to help keep my dog more mentally engaged and less stressed. Katie is punctual, she remembers all sorts of details about every dog, and she is my go-to whenever I need someone. Best dog sitter/walker in the Providence area!
Vera has been incredibly helpful for my dog, Nala, and me. She tailors her sessions to the people and dogs in her class, so everyone is getting their issues and needs met. She's big on 'meeting you where you are at" and helping you understand your dog so you are able to meet them where they are at. When she gives you feedback and suggestions, she is sensitive in her approach and you end up feeling more confident in your ability to train and interact with your dog, rather than feeling like you're a complete failure. You definitely have to put in your fair share of work outside of classes, and she checks in with you to see how you're progressing, which helps hold you accountable. Since beginning our work with Vera, I have noticed that Nala is calmer and looks to me more often for guidance. She responds more quickly when I correct her as well. Nala and I have more work to do but Vera has helped us get the ball rolling in the right direction. I highly recommend Vera for dog owners who want to have a more cooperative dog!
Jay really cares about the animals; my cats loved her! She's very gentle and compassionate.

I love animals, and I love taking care of them. I think we all do, but in those busy days, sometimes there is not enough time to take care of our best friends. So that is why I want to help you and bring a smile on your pet's face.
At Progressive Canine, our principle is to propose a motivational approach to training for their owners and dogs. We offer small group classes and individual personal sessions for all dogs of all ages, mixed breed and purebred alike. Our classes cover all levels of good behavior training from beginner to advanced, plus we address problem behaviors such as nipping, house training and jumping. We also offer behavioral consultations and behavioral modification programs for dogs with behavioral issues such as dominance, aggression, separation anxiety, fear, insecurity, and phobias. Our instructors are well versed in methods of training and many different techniques. This acknowledge us to assess each dog, and use the methods which will make you and your dog champion! This way gives us a success rate second to none! The biggest barrier between their owners and dogs are communication and understanding. Training with your dog is where your dog and you learn a common communication.
I have a lot of experience in these fields.
I'm specializing in behavior modification. I feel it is very important that we, as dog owners, learn to speak our dog's language. Having a strong outlook into animal behavior, I take the time to work one-on-one with you and your dog in your home, working to eliminate behavior problems, from house breaking and door dashing to animal- or human-based aggression.
I worked for an animal hospital for three years and I loved it. I love working with animals. It was always a passion of mine to have animals but sadly, I can't have dogs in my apartment so I would love to be a part of your dog's life and care for them.
We do walking, playing, cleaning and whatever needs to be done for your animal. They are in safe hands with me!
