Strategic K-9 Training

Joe was very helpful in showing us how to train and keep up with the training. I would recommend Strategic K-9 Training to my friends and relatives that have dogs.

When we first got Eva we had question what we did because she took control of our house and lives within the first two weeks. We had no control on walks, didn’t like dogs and chased every bike down the street. We tried YouTube videos and also a trainer who was all about giving treats for every action. Eva wasn’t having it... We reached out to Joe and by the end of the first session Eva was walking by our side!!!! We were in shock!! We could not believe what we were seeing... The best part about it was he taught us how to train Eva not just us giving him the leash and taking over. Within a few weeks we had her walking by our side and off leash. She sits, heels, lays down and just looks at bikes when they ride by!! Eva is now living her best life!!! Thank you Joe for all your help!!!

The last straw that forced us to go to training came when our dog bit a family member. I ended up calling Joe in tears, basically begging him to take on our dog (as not many trainers care to deal with aggressive dogs it seems). He consoled me and made time in his schedule to start working with us ASAP. He immediately gave us tools to gain control of the situation so that our dog would not bite someone again. He was quickly able to turn our dog around. We originally began training for the sole purpose of preventing another bite, but come graduation day, our dog could not only properly introduce himself to both humans and other dogs, he also had already started working on off leash work! Would recommend Joe as a trainer to any dog owner!

We cannot say enough great things about Joe and his training! From day one there was a significant difference. We went from having two dogs that we had no control of to having two obedient, calm, and trustworthy pups. I never in a million years thought we’d be able to peacefully sit at a restaurant with our Malinois or have our Shiba Inu off leash. Just to put things into perspective: On day one our Malinois greeted Joe by barking and lunging at him. Within an hour she was walking in a perfect heel alongside him. Now she walks off leash and ignores all distractions. The training sessions are designed to give your dog success and allows them to become an expert at the weekly lesson plan before moving to the next. Joe is able to identify the behaviors in your dog that are unwanted and develops a plan to make those behaviors desirable. One of the best things about this training is that Joe makes himself available to answer any questions that arise when working with your dog alone. This was extremely relieving to know because I felt like there was less confusion brought onto the dogs. Joe truly wants to see success in every dog and it has showed throughout each week of training. Our only regret is that we did not do this training sooner!!

Joe was wonderful training both our dog and her owners. He was thorough and knowledgeable and paid attention to our particular needs, like riding in a car. He was courteous, always on time and professional not only in his demeanor but also his attire. We enjoyed our sessions and would recommend him to anyone. We hope K-9 appreciates what an asset he is to their organization.
