Dog Training
Jill was very knowledgeable about dog behaviour and was able to go up and beyond regular training. She was able to teach me methods to help train my dog and she helped me better understand my dogs behaviour. Her training methods are spot on and we have been seeing results very quickly. I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs a dog trainer.

Dog Training
Jill was absolutely amazing with my dog, Luna. She was so responsive to her training tactics. Jill was able to give some training tips that would help Luna, and even demonstrated them to help me understand! Jill is the best trainer I’ve ever worked with!

Dog Training
What a fantastic experience for our new rescue pup. Jill was confident about my dog before I was! She immediately got my boxer/pit mix to be interested and start following commands!! We knew we needed the training and we want our dog to have a happy second half of his life. A huge thank you to Jill for these fantastic tools you’ve given us!

Dog Training
I had a great experience! After some questions and paperwork we got right into some training! My dog was responding very well to each command and we are looking forward to continuing the training!

Dog Training
Jill from coastal canine academy came to my rescue! I have 2 young rescue dogs and I was having trouble with them obeying simple commands, growling at strangers due to fear, and needed help getting my home situated with them in general. Jill’s experience and knowledge of training dogs is amazing. She spent time working with them and the way they responded to her instruction and training was amazing. She gave me plenty of tips and tricks on how to continue the training process. I felt so much more confident with my dogs and their behavior after working with her! I highly recommend Jill If you are looking for a dog trainer!! So reasonably priced too!!

FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Since I believe in training and realize it's not always in a person's budget, I like to think out-of-the box and offer a variety of ways a make payment as doable as possible. In a private, home session, the cost is a flat fee (usually $90), regardless of the number of dogs, but could be more if mileage is excessive. Most of my clients pay with cash, check or PayPal, but I can accept credit cards. I will also consider payment plans for serious clients who need a little help. I can also offer training consultations over the phone for some situations.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? It's important for me to educate my clients not only how their dogs can be trained with positive, force-free methods, but also how to help keep them safer and healthier. I will explain the difference between a dog doing a command and learning. Many times, within the first session, I am able to significantly help the client. The first private session can last at least an hour and a half depending on the client's need. If other sessions are needed, we can decide whether to do private (in their home or another location) or class sessions.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have done competition obedience and volunteered with dog rally and agility trials, beginning over 25 yrs ago. I have taken the exclusive Karen Pryor Clicker Training Course and continually take courses through Professional Pet Guild and Association of Professional Dog Trainers. I have an associate degree in applied animal science and a college degree. l am an AKC Evaluator/instructor for puppy - adult dogs. I am President of the local, non-profit dog training club.
