Charlestowne Workshop was one of our best vendors for our remodel. They showed up on time, communicated well both before, during and after the project and were very fair on pricing. As a GC, I would definitely hire them again and would also highly recommend them to others for future work. On our project, they helped us with a cabinet install in our kitchen but they were willing to do much more.Mar 21, 2017Verified
First of all this was a big project, it is a 24x14ft screened in porch and another 24x10ft of decking. The whole construction is connected to our house. We had several contractors looking at the job and went through multiple architectural alternatives. Josh contacted me very quickly after my post and we went through a transparent and fair design discussion and negotiation phase. I liked the transparency where Josh showed me a list of all materials (broken down to the nuts and bolts) and labor. We decided to work with Josh and Kevin and do not regret it! Obviously this was a huge project for us and for them and we could not cover all items upfront, so it took longer than we originally anticipated; But we also asked for changes during the project which caused additional delays. For us it was more important to have a result we really like, than to be picky about the timeline. Kevin has excellent carpentry skills and the final result is sturdy and and visually outstanding. We have only received compliments from visitors and passed on their contact details to our friends. I feel we have built up a good relationship with Kevin and Josh and I am looking forward to the next job and the next beer and conversation with "Schreinermeister Kevin" :) Enjoy the pictures of the project...Nov 7, 2016Verified
I hired Charlestowne Workshop to build a living fence to enclose my backyard. Josh contacted me immediately to get the information that was needed to come up with a quote. I provided him with a picture of exactly what I was looking for, he came up with a very fair price, and then Kevin and one of his team members started work right away. They had to work around rain squalls due to stormy weather off the coast, but they were still able to complete the fence within 3 days. We made the decision together to wait until the wood has a chance to dry before they come back to paint and I have every confidence they will return in a timely manner to complete the job. The fence looks amazing! It is exactly what I was looking for and the quality of the workmanship is excellent. My husband, who is an absolute perfectionist, is 100% satisfied! I don't know if I've ever been able to say that before! They were professional, courteous, organized and efficient from start to finish. They kept a neat worksite and cleaned everything up before they left. I would highly recommend them and would definitely hire them again. This was easy and painless from start to finish and I am completely satisfied!Sep 17, 2016Verified
The other reviews are right. These guys came out quickly, provided a very competitive quote, had open book pricing, and started and completed the job as agreed to. Their work was more than satisfactory and their responses were fast and to the point. Solid company with solid communication and based on results, solid experience.May 3, 2017Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? All of pricing is as custom as the work we do. However, any change order is a minimum of $50 and must be approved by our clients. Additionally, our minimum per day fee is $350 per day per professional and goes up from there based on the skill level required to complete the job.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We always have a good time working with new customers. The start of a project is exciting for everyone. It is up to the professional to keep clear and realistic communication during the planning stage to ensure the project stays exciting through the entire process.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? Our main focus and training has been wrapped around fine woodworking, but it has morphed into outdoor custom structures. We love the outdoor work and our attention to focus from fine woodworking has suited us very well in the exterior structure arena. It is fun to timber frame and build the things we do now. We love it.
