FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do have a standard pricing system Weddings in the Charleston area start at $75.00 for the service and help with vows, if needed. This includes travel to the service. Out of town services start at $125.00, the final pricing is based on length, and whether or not the couple needs me at a rehearsal. We discuss this right away so that the couple understands how much everything costs and can budget accordingly. I do not accept down payments - I am paid after the service is over, by cash or check. When a client requests a time and a date, it is theirs. If clients decide to cancel or postpone the service, they are not penalized in any way. There is no charge for changing one's mind about marriage or unforeseen events that come up. ( This has always worked well for everyone concerned. ) There are certain 'discounts' as well - for military, for senior citizens and for other extenuating circumstances - we can discuss that as needed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I work out the type service and specific wording with the client via email and / or phone. I have hundreds of pre-written ceremonies for ideas to choose from - the actual ceremony is written individually for each couple -so far no two have ever been exactly the same. If the client needs help writing vows, we may meet one or two times before the rehearsal ( if my presence is required at a rehearsal ) or just a few minutes before the actual service, it's up to the customer. It's their special day and I work with them to ensure that the vows and ceremony are done their way.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an ordained minister and I am happily married. I have been writing vows and wedding ceremonies for many years specifically for the individual client. While the basic ceremony has a format, each one is tailored for the client's marriage.
