Karen and Ray are so nice and understanding. When planning the flowers for my upcoming wedding, they offered me what I wanted and worked with me to stay within my budget. And when my world came crashing down and my wedding was cancelled, they could not have been more helpful and understanding. I highly recommend hiring them for your wedding.

We faced a unique situation - our wedding had to be relocated due to a pending Hurricane. Chrissy was more than accommodating considering the circumstances and with some creative thinking, proof of our marriage license - she was able to marry us (via FaceTime! of all things). As you can imagine - having to totally change your wedding plans last minute can be a nightmare for any bride -- I'm glad that this portion of that ordeal was VERY easy!

Mynonprofit organization hosted this event to honor Mrs. Johana Hayes, the National Teacher of the Year, and our special guest were girls from local group homes. Your professional staff gave attention to details to help make the room look inviting and to make the food very delectable. They also made sure that the kitchen and serving area was clean before leaving. During the dinner, the guest requested information on the chef, of which I gladly shared. They were making comments of how good the food tasted and how nice the presentation was as well. We had a wedding at the William Aiken House on Kings Street. We shopped around different entertainers and Shane was the one that really stuck out to us. We were coming from out of town, so we communicated via phone/emails and set most everything up. He showed up to the wedding rehearsal to make sure everything would run without a hitch. Everything turned out great! He is was extremely professional and made sure that all our needs were met. I highly recommend his services!

My husband and I got our wedding pics back shortly after we returned from our honeymoon. We sat in our room and went through each pic one by one. We laughed, smiled, cried, rejoiced and gasp in amazement for hours as if to relive our wedding day. I am so thankful to have found Photography by Leanor to capture our special day. We couldn't be happier with our pictures and the whole process of our relationship. Our memories will forever be cherished because of Leanor and her husband, Al.

It was a delight working with Emma. She went above and beyond to help capture our engagement moment and then she added a short impromptu engagement photo session on the end. She even enlisted the help of her husband and child to stand in and hold the perfect spot for the proposal. Emma is very professional, quick to respond, reasonably priced, and her work is amazing! I would recommend her to any and all for your photography needs. We could not be any more happy with our choice of photographer. We'll definitely be contacting her about our wedding photography in the coming months. Thanks, Emma!

My husband and I hired Adam to play music at our wedding reception on 9/8/17. He arrived early to set everything up. His set up was legit and professional and he even brought some cool lights to add ambience to the dance area. When the guests arrived he played instrumental jams as well as some well known dance tunes to get the party going. He was great at reading the crowd to provide exactly the tempo of music that was appropriate. HIs talent far surpasses many other musicians I have heard. He is professional, friendly, and easy going. His positive energy and likable personality will fit right in with any crowd. Adam is an extremely talented and passionate musician. If you are looking for a musician for an event, I would HIGHLY recommend hiring Adam. You won't be disappointed!!!

Braska captures the most amazing and beautiful photographs, which is obviously the most important thing to think about when you're deciding on a wedding photographer, and Braska also goes above and beyond. She helped us to figure out our wedding day timeline so that we wouldn't feel rushed and so that we would get as many images as possible during the day. And then on the wedding day she was prepared to deal with anything that came up - she is super experienced and resourceful! On our day, my bouquet was not quite what I had imagined, and she totally re-made my bouquet the day of the wedding in between getting all the photographs that we wanted, and the bouquet was absolutely gorgeous. Braska also brings a level of joy and fun wherever she goes, and she helped us to feel comfortable while she was taking our pictures. We love Braska and were so happy that she was a part of our day.

Lee Edwards Entertainment provided the DJ for our wedding on October 15th on Sullivan's Island. The service was outstanding! We had a mix of ages at our wedding and the DJ kept the dance floor filled with people dancing form the first dance until the wedding ended a few hours later. Our DJ Jonathan was professional and on time. He also played music for our ceremony that was perfectly timed and contributed to our wedding being a huge success!

Jamie was awesome! He texted me and asked many detailed questions I wouldn’t have ever thought of, he arrived super early, his enthusiasm for my day was almost as much as I had for it, he was friendly, accommodating, thoughtful, and did exactly what I told him to do! He even gave me and my husband a cd of all the songs for our wedding. Thank you Jamie for making my special day go smoothly!!! You got all my guests out on the dance floor and did everything I asked!! I could not thank you enough!!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.
