  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I have no set formula it always depends upon the type of work is being done because that determines the type of materials and the cost of those materials is always a factor. things that require more intensive labor and knowledge obviously are more expensive. also the Finish schedule and the degree of Excellence that is required by the customer is always a factor. I always extend discounts to senior citizens and those who are financially challenged.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

always take measurements and if necessary make a drawing unless they already have a drawing. I then go by a point-by-point checklist to determine the materials involved and the Finish schedule. Once I have those things and the overall budget that is available to work with, I will submit a contract amount. as a rule that contract amount does not change unless the customer makes changes, or if there is work discovered in progress that was not visible at the outset. Once a contract amount has been agreed upon I always retain materials required for the first stage of the work and also a deposit against the first stage of the labor. after that a progress draw weekly or incrementally as the stages of the job are completed with final payment to be made upon completion. as a rule I always try to make sure my customers are 100% satisfied

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a full union apprenticeship and was a top journeyman at one time with the carpenters union. I have a full certificate from Lincoln welding school, and I have completed many many seminars on my profession, plus a lifetime of experience and teachers.
